"The Loose Wheel(ball) Show"
Bar Bodega, Thursday 7 October. 9 pm

After playing to a nearly full-house at the Cross last Saturday, Dragstrip will once more be bringing his own brand of music- Hoodoo Folk – to the stage. This time at Bodega on Thursday October 7.

Hoodoo Folk is Dragstrip’s own hybrid of Appalachian Folk-Music and Alt. Country with the context shifted to an Urban setting. His songs tell the stories of the misinformed and the misguided: the misanthropes and the maladjusted. Joining Dragstrip onstage will be the extremely talented guitarist “Urethra Franklin”.

Along for the ride are The Eric Rouse. Fronted by David Coventry (Cattle, La Gloria) ;and formed by members of a cricket team, The Eric Rouse sometimes play an organ-driven, low-tempo, pop music, that makes as much of the silence as it does of the delicious twang of Coventry’s guitar. On other occasions, however, they have been known to devolve into power-pop rock-pigs. What will they be this time?

Also along for the ride are The Hi-Aces, a combo of multi-instrumentalists that play what could best be described as “Urban-Country”. Their set includes covers by such diverse artists as Sticky Filth and the Handsome Family. They are as versatile as the van for which they are named.

Dragstrip will be taking the stage at 9pm, with the Hi-Aces and then the Eric Rouse to follow.

Entry is $10.
