but did anyone else see the seven meter great white they caught on the news?? pretty freaky ha?
Although since I like sharks I can't help feel a little sad for the big lasie, its not often that great whites grow upto seven or eight meters anymore, mainly due to the fact that there numbers have been so badly cut down after movies like jaws.
anyway, the guys cut the babie out and released them, but is now selling the jaws... and a big fuss is been made about his rights to do so, because the science groups can't afford to bid for it. But since he caught it, should he have rights to do what he likes.
I don't really have an opinion either way, I'm just a bit sad that such a majestic looking creature got iced.

Not really. I prefer swimming pools cos you can see exactly what you're swimming in. So what if we have sharks..about time we had something real in this country. Keep swimming but use your common sense with knowing that help is around, other people, safety issues, dont go too far etc..Most people love the beach..to me its just salty pathetic full of seaweed & rocks here n there..its awful for me personally. When I went to the Island of Niue some time ago the water was so rich n beautiful you could even see the colourful fish & colourful sea snakes swimming before you - they didn't bite though..when i saw their water compared to our richly green sick water I have been disgusted ever since..i still like to enter the sea from time to time but not really..its horrible. Especially around our ways. Its better to swim in a lake if you prefer the outdoors water, more fresher & more reliable.

If we have monitored beaches for things such as sharks/dangerous beasts, animals whatever then having a shark in our waters is pretty cool...Dam A shark! We have a shark in our waters...Dam that. Thats pretty cool.

did you get dumped? when i was 5 we were camping up at 90 mile beach (which for you theta is like way up north- bout 5 hours drive i think- as far as i can remember- from auckland) and they can get pretty huge waves up there- well at least to 5 year old eyes... i got dumped by a wave and have hated the seas since... il sunbathe at the beach and maybe go in if its calm... but otherwise no...

I like swimming at Herne Bay cause the water is really deep and salty and you can float like a starfish. I hate swimming in Mission Bay and Howick Beaches where you have to walk for miles to get the water deep enough and even then it's only to your knees. My friends went skinny dipping they and they didn't realise the beach was like that and eventually gave up and walked back in. I don't like Piha cause the waves are to big and I don't like being dumped and not knowing which way is up. I like having salty hair. I like the smooth silky feeling of the water. I like warm sand. I like fish and chips after a day at the beach. Mmmmmmmmmm Summer!
