By far I'm biased, but I would have to say that EXCOMMUNICATED is the best NZ compilation. 11 bands doing two songs a piece ranging from industrial/ metal through punk and indie pop. I think it has sold out of its only pressing and is pretty much unavailable. Genius underground and unhyped kiwi music.
The Dollar Mixture compilation put out by Wrong Records. Lots of great pop tracks from Range, Hawaii 5-0, Cabbage Bomber, Squirm, Sugarbug. Not a duff track in 72 minutes of music!
i'm with you mels -this one rocks!!! Half excellent relatively new stuff from the likes of eye tv, breathe, tadpole and fur patrol etc as well as some real classics from the mutton birds, the chills, th' dudes etc!
