airnewzealand new ad jingle

is it a jingle or a song ? does any one know about it ? This song goes ba ba ba ba. where a guy is trying to propose to a girl.

Forums: NZ Music,

the troggs are great!

I have a 15 min audio of the troggs, bikkering and swearing at each other, it was apparently recorded while they were in a studio and the engineer kept the tape running, very funny, if you haven't heard it I think it's on the net some where or I could send you a copy if you like.

shit mate that is a fucking great description of a song

"ba ba ba ba"

i know exactly what it is.

you need to see this advert to know about it exactly

as i said:
"i know exactly what it is."
admittedly i was being sarcastic when i said it was a fucking great description of the song

ba ba ba ba?

c'mon mate. im sure you can do better...
...maybe you should add a "bopp" in there somewhere??

Y'know, when I read the topic I didn't know what ad or song it refered to, but after seeing the "ba ba ba ba ba" lyrics fragment, I now have that song playing in my head. Of course, I can't remember any other lyrics, so I can't help out with that.

But if you email or phone Air New Zealand, they'll probably be able to tell you.

Wait! I googled it and got it!

It's a 1966 song by The Troggs called "With A Girl Like You".

It has almost 100 ba's in it.

Sickening, my brother downloaded that and has been playing it incessantly for the last 3 days.

i cant believe you guys have never heard the troggs 'a girl like you'.. i suppose you've never heard 'wild thing' either..

Well, y'know. considering that song was released eight years before I was born, and probably close to 20 years before many regulars here were born, it's not like many of us have fond memories of listening to it when it first came out.

I'm familiar with many hit records of the '60s, but not all of them. I've heard "Wild Thing", but not "A Girl Like You". It's not like I heard "Wild Thing" and thought "Wow, I dig that simple drunken fool shoutalong classic. I wonder what other songs The Troggs did? I will buy their greatest hits CD and find out."

It is useful to have a good knowledge of popular music of the past, but I prefer to focus on the music of the present. (That and my fear of turning into either a classic hits (or retro) radio listener, or one of those music nerds, a la "High Fidelity".)

do you know where i can download this song from ?

I got it, it is a really cool song. you all should hear it.

sorry if i sounded condescending - i just never got the 'it came out before i was born, so i dont know it' view, i would have thought just about everyone would have be exposed to the staples of 'classic rock' by the time they could intelligently discuss music..

I was going to be facetious and ask for a list of all the songs one should be familiar with before one could discuss music intelligently. But I'm refraining.

Everyone approaches music from their own angle. I have a friend who (unlike me) wouldn't recognise any songs in the top 40, but who (also unlike me), can say what the three B's of dancehall are.

I'm happy for that Troggs song to stay on that Air New Zealand ad and not be part of my life. But there are other areas of music history that I'm happy to delve into.

oh and yeah its a great song, the troggs had a few good hits..

What the fuck are you guys on about. It's a fucking hippy song.
Just wait til your little siter learns it on guitar and tries singing it.
shit man, you should be talking about newer songs.

actually, it is kinda catchy...
