Not so sure that it will ever be funny ... though I am sure there are plenty of people who might find the idea of people dying amusing. And I guess it could be funny ... that is if Dachau is funny, or Auschwitz, or Parihaka ...
For me, while it is possible, even essential to find humour in human conflict I have difficulty with the idea that we should trivialise the enormity of what happened to people. The sad part about Sept 11 for me is that it has had just the effect that the perpertrators intended ... it changed everyones lives. I see no humour in that. Unless of course you are one of those rabid haters who think that there is something wildly hilarious in the image of hundreds of people being killed as they go about their daily lives ... for me that is wrong no matter who the perpertrators are.
