Forums: Classifieds,

For fuck sake how hard are these things to find... I feel ya brother, ive been lookin for weeks for a DTR-2000, i even went to the Korg NZ home Page to look for distribution thoughout NZ, no chance, that part of the page was down... What are you guys on about ? I didn't find it hard at all ..
I wanted one a week ago, so I looked up the Korg NZ home page, I rang the number.. asked what they had in stock, they said what they had & I said yup sweet, sounds good, I'll take one.
I got a DTR 2, the old ones, more expensive than the new ones because apparently they have stopped making them in Japan & are now making them in China or some such, so the DTR 1000 is cheaper, round the $400 mark & the 2000 up around the $700 mark ...
Anyway, they have a shop somewhere in north auckland & I think they have some DTR 1000's in stock & are waiting for more 2000's to come in during December I think , if I recal correctly.
I think I snagged the last Japanese made DTR that they had though .. I didn't see the need to wait until Dec to get the 2000 with all of those extra features that I would never use ..
Anyway .. good hunting guys, I'm sure you will fond some soon.

hey bro, thanks a lot, turns out the 1000 and 2000 arent as pricey as they were when they first came out.... viva los brand-new-shop-bough-equiptment!

I just picked up a Korg DTR-2000 from Mark at Mainline Musicworks Takapuna. He had no problem sourcing it for me at all.

I'd say try one of the Musicworks shops, if you are still looking Stu.

cool bro, what did you pay?

Well i got a bit of a deal but I think standard retail on that unit was about $600 or $650.

Haven't even had a chance to play with it yet but will be breaking it in at practice tonight.
I was definately impressed with some of the features on the DTR-2000, it appears to tune pretty precisely and has a nice bottom-mounted light so that will make it easier (hopefully) to read the dials on my head unit in the dark :)

yeah man, fully.

i need the 2000 cos i need the mic on the front (4 peice horn section who might like to use it). do you know if you can run a guitar through it, and switch it to the mic without cutting the signal path of the guitar to the amp?

I just gave it a quick try now and I could only get the tuner to pick up my acoustic guitar when I had switched the to the empty input jack AND hit the mute switch

Changing the input jack removed the bass signal to the amp :( and mute additionally drops all signals.
Maybe there is a way but I couldn't find it during that quick play :(

Just thinking about it now you might be able to do that if you have the tuner differently positioned in your setup than I do.

I have it immediately before the head (signal comes from wireless, through tuner, into head unit) but if you set it so that the tuner was in a line out or similar you would be able to switch between instruments without cutting out your guitar signal.

That would mean that you wouldn't be able to mute your guitar to noiselessly tune (which I do a lot) though.
So I reckon you might be able to if you set it all up right and maybe used a Line Selector or similar pedal as well (if noiseless tuning is of concern to you).

yeah, thinking i may have to run it off the FX loop, or the slave out

(probly the slave out, cos i have BIG pland for the Loop)

thanks for having a go man, whens your next show?

We are playing a show on Friday night down at the Masonic. It's a big night planned for one of the guitarists from The Sushi who is leaving the band to go back to Japan the next day.

We are playing about 8:00 or so followed by Mozelee and then The Sushi will play a long set at the end of the night to farewell Takuya.

How's everything going for The WBC? I HAVE to catch you guys again sometime real soon!
