yep, very dissaponted w/ Amp'd You'd think w/ the Rock afiliation they'd have Paul Martin from the axe attack have a metal show

ive tried very hard to support C4 and watch it but its hard when they play the same stupid POP songs, repeating every half an hour. gggrrrr if i wanted to watch pop music i would just watch juicetv.
so i say YES to more metal shows.

I can't stand Select. I foolishly texted in requesting The Strokes and didn't see it played at all. However they do manage to repeat other songs (such as I'll Be Missing You by Puff Daddy which is at least 5 years old!) and play numerous songs by the same artist, namely Justin Timberlake, Linkin Park and Elemeno P, yuk! Also I think we could do without The Hijak being repeated 3 times a week, and Jackass being repeated twice. How about giving the specialist shows another hour each, cause every time I watch Intellectual Property, (great job Camilla!!) one hour just seems far too short! And is it just me or do they only play your video on Freestyle if you request either rap or hip hop?

hello MTV-Clone - that is how i can describe C4.

nothing more than a regurgitated MTV but with Kiwi Hosts.

Why is Select even called a request show? You only have the option of chosing the songs that they give you! Crock of shit! and most of the time they'll show almost all the songs that they scroll anyway.

I don't know how commercially sensible the whole Select thing is either. With Juice now being free-to-air in Auckland C4 needs a point of difference to catch the after school prime time. The kids that want to watch Hillary Duff, J-Tim, Elemeno P, Pharrel etc can get their fill from the already established Juice TV.
A lot of the bits-and-pieces shows don't seem to able to sustain themselves either. They keep repeating the same things on 'Clipped' over and over. If they want all those flashy infotainment bits they're gonna have to keep finding new stuff.

The specialist shows are good though. They're just too short and on too late to attract any kind of regular audience.

I hate the entire C4 except "intellectual properties" and "flashback", otherwise, it's a waste of time like juice tv.

for some reason they've got AC/DCs Thunderstruck in Select, so looks like thats the closet to Metal there (excepting "Nu Metal" Like Linkin Park)

i did note that Select was exactly the same two days in a row late last week. i hate that Puff Daddy video, stupid self-aggrandising arsehole. Biggie would still be eating steaks the size of bathmats today if Puff hadn't got involved.
anyhoo, i don't care what C4 play : as long as it's free, they can play what they damn well like. it's still better than reality TV, soaps or Japanese cartoons... now, if they combined all three of those elements that'd be a different matter entirely.
(that Wham! special last week was pushing things though)

why on earth does EVERY Single TV Station in New Zealand play this talentless junk on our TV Sets???? GET A GRIP - not everyone likes pop, Not everyone is stuck in intermediate school, and who's it trying to dictate whats cool?? surely these people are bloody mad. (i will not mention my old methods here anymore).

surely if less pop was played on C4 yet alone any form of media, everybody will be happier

and then when they are done with the easy listening they could play some real metal ;) but seriously, they are never going to put on a decent metal show, even a tame one like Paul Martin might host. Metal listeners are not part of their target audience... C4 is commercial radio on tv for a reason, as mentioned above - unit shifters = cash money from advertisers - metal show = happy bogans, but no money... if I had my way we'd be watching metal videos 24x7 - just as well I don't run things I guess.

do they not have a metal show on C4 anyway? or is not any good? the hip-hop show that phil sir-vere does is brilliant... as is gay little nick D's 'dance' show :-)

Well, they could harden up the supposed 'rock' show for a start. They should be able to cram a couple of metal vids into that hour. C4's good from 10pm onwards. Before that, unfortunately, it's worse than Juice. I don't know if anyone's noticed, but Juice has stepped up, playing more rock etc.

They're both free... better than the void of music post-m2. It could be better though.
