phobias

anyone have any phobias of anything? i myself have a massive fear of bees and looking at mirrors at night

Forums: The Bar,

I'm scared of 'punkers'.
And Clowns. They're a scary mother f-ers.

//Clowns . .

yes me too,
thank ICP for that

//thank ICP for that.

...Or John Wayne Gacy.

clowns creep me out too. i wonder why lots of people don't like them?

Brian Dennehy...

Anyone in a big costume eg clowns, father christmas, rugby mascots. I feared them before the furry phenomenom. Once at Farmers when I was little & mum wanted me to have my photo taken with father christmas, I screamed & cried & then fell over & rolled away, smashing in clothes racks throughout the process. Embarrassing parents is the best.

lots of people hate clowns and i think it's something akin to mass hysteria, people don't like clowns because someone they know pointed out to them that they are creepy and hide behind a mask of face-paint but you never know what's going on underneath, or they saw it in a movie, read it in a book, or saw IT ... well so what, same with mimes, and goths, in fact goths and mimes - they're the same thing!!!

so in order to really be afraid of clowns, rather than just say you are, i think you need to have an intangible fear of goths and mimes as well. and sports mascots and theme park mascots and promotional mascots for businesses ... although mascots could fall under the same section of creepy as puppets, being "alive" in one sense yet completely inanimate and soulless at the same time

oh yeah so mega's got it right :)

Charlotte Dawson and Peter Urlich are my only phobias

Charlotte is a milf! Who is Peter Ulrich anyway?

HAPPY AHMED- are you trying to say charlotte dawson has children ??????

please god no. never. NEVER
that would have to be my phobia charlotte dawson reproducing

no wait charlotte dawson reproducing with peter urlich

ewwww

My phobia has got to be butterflies and moth. I get really freaked by the big hairy ones!

one day waking up and not being the person i want to be.

that's a pretty stink fear, even worse would be waking up and realising you haven't been for a long time, but you were once upon a time.

I hate hate hate chickens. And other birds also.

I hate birds too, chikens... eww, look at those legs, ewww, PUKE PUKE!!!

How can you fear something that is so delicious!

If they're dead and cut up, and don't have claws and beaks then that's fine. In fact, that's probably why I can't go fully vegetarian - I fear the chickens will rise up and attack if I don't continue to deplete their numbers. But duck is the yummiest flesh ever.

Yeah, its not one of my things to do either but sometimes it can't be avoided.

Doh! thats not meant to be here hehehe. Im such a twit when Im sleepy.

Don't like moths.

And like whoever said it before, I don't like looking in mirrors, or out windows at night.

ewwww moths are discusting, especially the huge ones that fly at you, arghhhh so gross

christian 'punks' is my phobia....

flying into wellington.

ooooh- good one...

Amen to that!

I LOVE flying into Wellington, when you go so low over the water that you think the plane is going to crash into it, and you have to accept that maybe, this is your time, and so since there's nothing you can do you just smile, so it's a pleasant suprise when you arrive safe and sound. It gets me hot.

When I last flew into Wellington I wanted to go through into the cockpit and give both those pilots a good hard slap. As we came into land I could see the runway out my window, I started wondering whether the wheels on this plane ran at right angles rather than your regular straight variety. To make matters worse they were playing the 'lets drop 50 meters in a second and see how many people puke' game. Don't tell me it was the wind those two pilots were laughing their arses off. I'd catch the train except last time this guy snored so loud my teeth were rattling, and he was pretty vicious looking so I decided not to bring it to his attention. I thinks me drive next time.

You my friend are fighting the good fight.

flying into wellington kicks ass - except if your landing towards the south, i mean youve got that embankment and imagine hitting it at 250km/h.

I wonder if this is more applicable to people who don't live in Wellington ... but it's so unfreaky and normal to me that I would never think of anyone even feeling scared by it ...

Ive flown into Wellington maybe twenty times in my life and its always a trip man, its not so much a fright but more of a rush, you know, your in that flying pencil case bouncing all over the place, the waves seem like they're right there, man, it gets the blood pumping, I don't think I ever enjoyed a ciggie as much as I do after a flight into Wellington.

flying into queenstown's pretty cool, it's like this:

10:30am - countless kilometers of mountains
10:31am - countless kilometers of mountains
10:32am - sudden gap in the countless kilometers of mountains, steep decline, fear of crashing into one of the countless kilometers of mountains on every side of the tiny landing strip as you spiral in from above the countless kilometers of mountains
10:40am - freeze to death as you exit the shed in the middle of nowh... er the airport

but there's an upside!

2pm the next day - wake up hung over kicking self for missing the skiing
3pm the next day - throw up on the gondola

This is really spooky. Yesterday morning I read a post on a different site and someone said they're scared of looking in mirrors at night. This has been my longest standing phobia right from when I was a child, and I was surprised to read that because I'd never met anyone else with it. I even considered starting a topic here about it...but I was beaten to it...by someone with the same fear.

...and this is just a week after I had *yet another* dream - four dreams in quick succession, in fact - that I was looking in a mirror and my mirror image started doing things that I wasn't, and started talking to me and I blacked out. I've had that dream a few times now.

So that's three of us here and counting. Anyone else with this particular phobia?

> scared of looking in mirrors at night.

It's Sapphire & Steel's fault. Traumatised a generation of people with their low-budget shock tactics they did...

hahaha.

Yeah, bloody Sapphire and Steel. And maybe Twin Peaks. Hmm. And more recently Ring got me bad. Mirrors, TV sets, anything reflective pretty much I didn't want to go near it at night or alone.

But it's not a general fear I have.

I find old portrait paintings very scary and try to avoid looking at them at night. Same kind of connections with old low budget horror, I'm sure.

candyman candyman candyman

//It's Sapphire & Steel's fault.

Dang, you may just be onto something there.

Hahaha you want to drop some acid and look into a mirror, that'll shit you right up!

Lordy, can't think of anything worse. Honestly, I'd end up being sucked into a parallel dimension from which I couldn't escape and evil me would break out of the mirror into this universe and take my place and noone would even realise and that'd be a shame.

// noone would even realise

You mean they couldn't tell the difference!? >;)

It's one of The Big Questions of the universe, isn't it?
"Who am I?"
"Why am I here?"
"If I was sucked through a mirror into a parallel dimension tomorrow and replaced by Evil Me, would anybody notice?"

The last time I took drugs (a year ago this weekend, I'm so good and clean!) and I completely lost the plot, one of the things I was most terrified about was going to the bathroom, because I'd have to pass a mirror and I did not want to look at myself at all. I think in the end I managed to do it all without opening my eyes once, which was a pretty good feat given that I couldn't feel most of my body at the time.

I used to get freaked out of looking into mirrors when i was about 8 or 9 when all that bloody mary and candyman shit started it got quite bad that mum had to take down all the mirrors in my room and aroung the house i was so scared,also my doll which used to sit up on my bookshelf when i was little used to spook the shit outta me she was scary!

Just don't look behind you, blindspott!

Ahhhh im scared!

i duno why mirrors scare me aye but its just the thought of someone just staring at you in the mirror behind ur back i just hate it

What do you look like then Heather? Or did u see some kinda shade standing behind ur terrified reflection? BOOOOOOO
