The name comes from Laika, the Russian space astronaut dog.
The dog had no chance, but was heralded as a National Hero, and was the face of the space race for the Eastern world.
Te name points out what countries and humans can and will do for glory.
"Good Laika", as in, Good doggy, come to the lovely space ship and be a good hero then...
