Great Movie, Great Soundtrack

Interested to hear what people thought of Greg Page's film The Locals, went to it last night wicked movie great twist awesome soundtrack. Dave Gibson (Elemeno P) and John Barker (formerly of Jester) act up a storm proving they are both multi talented. Greg Page of course is also immensely talented in music videos as well, with D4, The Datsuns, 8 Foor Sativa being only a small selection of the bands he has made videos for now in there 100s.
What do you guys out there in nzmusic land think?

Forums: NZ Music,

I also saw it last night.

I liked it, in fact, loved it. It was more scary coz i could relate to the scenery. Wicked plot too.
Wasn't the 8 foot Sativa singer in there too?

Favourite part...

"Don't call me spastic"... *mumble mumble mumble*

I think he is actually have you seen their new clip that Greg also made them, very wicked.

Everyone should see this movie gets you thinking I am going again tomorrow can't wait I can hardly type due to the excitement

Haha, yeah...
Cool song too :p

Its a bit of a New Zealand music show too eh, spec when they are driving... shit man, Kiwi band galore!

yer, that sativa video is their best yet

Best thing about it loving the soundtrack, loving the complete promotion of NZ Music accompanied my a movie which is primo. Loving the lack of Shortland Street actors that may have brought it down a few pegs.

I jumped, I laughed I cried can't wait to see it again!

COOL! Maybe i will go see it then!

John Barker was in Shortland Street in 2000, in a major guest role.

Definitely see it I am fully plugging this movie

Great movie, great soundtrack. I think i'll go see it again!

i won tickets to it, along with a tshirt and the soundtrack :) so i went and saw it today. 'twas cool. way better than the lame hollywood slasher flicks. good, nz horror. makes me scared of farmers. i advise you to go see it . unless you dislike farmers, in which case it will give you nightmares.

Is it actually good? The trailer made it look real bad ...

go and see it! don't let the trailer put you off. it's really cool movie

yeah, it is really good. a really really good yarn. but i grew up in the country, so it was mostly a little funny to me how city people see the country (basically a whole lot of emotionless zombies wandering around, hard to read their signals, oh god who knows what they're thinking!!).

there isn't much gore, but lots of good suspense. great lighting, great lurid colours. awesome acting - hadn't seen any of those principals in anything before.

i didn't notice the soundtrack much at all.

hope the director makes another feature soon. one of the best opening/credit sequences ever. sooooooo utterly gorgeous.

i'd say that Greg would make another film, not sure what on though. Probably waiting to see how everyone liked it before he does anything

do they eat ppl and stuff?

no they don't eat people

I thought lead actor, John Barker and the music was the best thing about the movie, but the lighting was appalling! Yeah it was extreme which brought out the ghostly quality of the countryside, but purleeease! Most of the scenes were floodlit like a rugby stadium! and what's up with having a really bright light coming from behind in a car scene when there was no car following? attention to detail is crucial and this was just GLARINGLY obvious.

that unrealistic quality (as opposed to being realistic and unobvious) was what i really liked about the lighting. it was very stylised, like a comic book. i liked that the car drove through patches of lighting-like-spotlights. i liked that certain trees were all lit up.

Heh ... I think that's how most people see me!

I might check it out then ...

whoops, my typo twice over.....shambles

wherebouts is this film being screened? im guessing not hoyts...

nah, it's being screened at the majors, i.e: Hoyts

Hoyts and Rialto in Dunedin I am off to see it again tomorrow night!

Do u reckon it's better than "28 days later"?

I have not seen 28 days later yet, is it the same sort of movie are they even on a comparable level

it is also a zombie movie. Though i reckon not enough zombie in it.

Anyone seen it and loved it
