Me planning to see a movie during the day either today or tomorrow. So what good that is on right now besides 28 days later (my pussy mate don't like zombie movies *angry face*). Is "american pie the wedding" any good?

Pirates of the Caribbean was fun.
Confessions of a Dangerous Mind has become one of my all-time favourite movies.
Finding Nemo was hella better than I thought it would be and I want to see it again.

Milo's cinema-outing! We went to it a couple of weeks back. Excellent stuff. And couldn't have done better on the plot: lots of loving father-son moments to make me all emotional.

Johnny depp was fantastic on pirates. Is confession quirky like "adaptation" and "being John malcovich"? Finding Nemo is babies! just kidding.

//Is confession quirky like "adaptation" and "being John malcovich"?
Yes, but I thought it was a lot funnier and more absorbing than those two movies. I didn't like adaptation that much, and being john malkovich was just weird and kinda annoying.

ahaha! There were just aspects of both movies that pissed me off:
Adaptation - Nicolas Cage sweating all the time really grossed me out. Also the ending was too much like it had been tacked on - like halfway through they'd spliced in a completely different movie. Bit of an anticlimax.
Being John Malkovich was a brilliant movie, but the ending was too annoyingly depressing. His girlfriend pissed me off. I guess that's the point of the story, but for me it was as frustrating as watching fawlty towers.

wasn't that deliberate? when he asked his b-grade writer brother to help finish the film, the whole movie shifted into implausible-land. not that that makes it any better: the finish *was* lame.
That's how I figured it.The first half ...
That's how I figured it.The first half was all about Charlie Kaufman trying to write an interesting script based on a book about flowers. The second half was the bit "written" by "Donald Kaufman" - it had drugs, guns, a car chase (of sorts) and at the end the hero was well on his way to getting the girl.

//wasn't that deliberate?
Yeah - I think the whole self-reference theme was a clever idea, it worked for the rest of the story, but not for the ending.

Confessions of a Dangerous mind is tops ... best movie so far this year for me. I will have to get it when it comes out on DVD - was even thinking of going to it again, but it doesn't seem to be playing in Dunedin.
I think the whole story is probably nonsense, though ... but still a great movie ... I hope to see that lead guy in some more stuff, and even Julia Roberts isn't too bad!

I agree with the people who agree with me that adaptation is a good movie, i think the whole idea of "a movie about the movie" is brilliant. It also have a good message of "don't worry about what other ppl thinks, it makes u feel better" *big thumbs up*
There aren't even "really" two ...
There aren't even "really" two brothers in the film, are there? Donald's just like the tempting devil on his shoulder steering him into populist schlock... hence Donald prattling on about making a film about different people who turn out to be split personalities. Maybe?
I dunno. I thought it was all a bit too cynical. I found 'Being John Malkovich' much more fun, just cos it works for straight ahead laughs.
Charlie Kaufman wrote another film, 'Human Nature' (not directed by Spike Jonze) that was out around the same time that sounded really good. Anyone seen it?

Old Skool movies!!! We watched 'The Goonies' DVD and man the memories came flooding back. Special features included Cindy Laupers song "The Goonies" (Good enough). Fuck I totally forgot she was way too outrageous, even for the 80's.

like vietnow i prefer the oldskool. Heres my list
FAST TIMES AT RIDGEMONT HIGH - Sean Penn/Jeff Spicoli is THE FUCKEN BEAST!!!!
WILLY WONKAS CHOCOLATE FACTORY - Ever notice that 98% of the movie is based on and related to Marijuana and LSD where else would Oompa Loompas come from? and Augustis Gloop smokes around 4 Bhuddas a day which explains his endless food binge.
The greatest feel good movie of all ...
The greatest feel good movie of all times "Princess bride"
That movie will cure a hang over (I promise).

1: Charlie Bucket does a science experiment in school with glisterine and what-other substance, aint these kids making Acid or something?
2: Charlies teacher - Shifting the test day from friday to monday (or whatever it was) and he goes on to say "since today is tueday it dont really worry" still i suppose hes baked on herb
3: Charlie Buckets House looks like a run-down hippie commune.
4: Augustus Gloop could not stop eating - maybe that explains his 4 joint per day habit.
5: Oompa Loompas - only Owsley Acid would create such an effect
6: Entering the Choclate Factory: they state fippery - what the fuck is fippery???
7: Grampa Joe - he says he hasnt walked for 20 years - how the fuck could he have gone to the Potty or had a shower, brushed his teeth, had a shave, it dont make sense.
8: Maybe Mr. Joepeck was Charlies Dealer??????? or was it Slugworth?????? or that geezer that looked like Slugworth who came on at the end of the movie???????
9: The "Chocolate River" it looked like Bong Water to Me. and fancy Augustus trying to drink Bong Water, it wouldnt get him high, rather spit it out
10: The "Chocolate Room" Loaded with Shrromies and im taling Magic Mushrooms
11: The River-Boat Scene reminds me of an acid trip i took in late 2000
12: Fizzy Lifting Drinks - Alcohol??? nah id say they are softdrinks laced with LSD
13: Lickable Wallpaper - Its Obvious an Non-Debateable - Lysergic Acid.
14: The Gobstopper Department - was really a 'P' lab - or maybe and LSD manufacturing lab.
15: References to "you gotta go forwards to go back" is like saying if your having a bad Acid trip you cant get out of it until the trip is over.
16: The end of the show wher ethey are takling off in that Wonka-Vator is like after youve taken Amps or more likely acid, They speed up and crash through that glass roof. and to end it even the end theme song sound slike those Oompa Loompa Actors themselves dropped a few trips before performing.
See ho wthe Glories of Mary Jane and Alice Dee can influence even the coolest of Shows??

I'm going to reccommend "Matchstick Men". It's not on in New Zealand yet, but I saw it yesterday in Sydney and I loved it. Nicolas Cage plays an obsessive compulsive con man who meets his long lost 14 year old daughter. It takes the traditional con man genre film and adds personal relationship and crazy stuff. It's both sweet and tender, and has a thrilling con.

Lovers of good cinema have to check out ...
Lovers of good cinema have to check out Krystoff Kieslowski's Dekalog. It is a series of ten hour-long films he made for Polish TV in the late 80s. Each film centres around one of the ten commandments and involves characters living in the same Warsaw appartment block. Although the prevailing atmosphere of the series is grim, these are very human tales - like a collection of linked short stories. And the writing is worthy of Chekhov. Also check out Kieslowski's Three Colours trilogy.
