¿NEWISH ALBUMS?

¿has anyone posted a topic exclaiming how great the cardigans newish album is?

Forums: The Bar,

I didn't even know they were still together. The last thing I heard of them was that cover they did with Tom Jones 'Burning Down The House'.
Is she still blonde??

no- brunette

uhh the record company finally let her.
I remember watching a interview on tv with them & she basicly said the record threw a fit when she first dyed it brunette

Sorry lena, I've tried, but I just can't like the Cardigans. They do nothing for me.

try harder bitch

Only if you try to like Augustino. :-Y

I've heard good things about it on the web - I hear it has a country flavour to it.

Speaking of newish, the Kings of Leon is getting a lot of play here.

yeah- not as icy as gran tourismo- might get acamp too next- heard good things about that

haven't really liked the k's ol stuff i've heard- might try harder- bitch

'California Waiting' is a favorite, the opening riff to 'Mollys Chambers' could easily be The Stones (Brian Jones era).........The kings have their moments but their lead singer does have a tendancy to sound like a drunkin hobo which is cool for a while but does get a bit tired, its nice when he actually sings on 'Dusty'.

A Camp is indeed cool. I just love Nina Perrson's voice.

Got A Camp immediately following her appearance on It's A Wonderful Life.

I have always been a fan, the cardigns are highly underrated which is mosetly due to 'Lovefool' and the amount of thrashing that song got, but 'Life' is retro lounge at its best and 'Grande Turismo' is like their OK Computer, dont make any judgements on them until you have heard these albums....funnily enough I got into them when I was listening to alot of heavy Swedish music in the mid 90's like refused and breach, I just liked the cover art of 'Life' heard they were from Sweden and decided to buy it.....have been in love ever since.

i thought they where german??

nope

They make really weak music.....

That new Dandy Warhols ( the Last High ??) song sounds like something off Gran Turismo , think of the melody then imagine the Cardigans singer doing it .

wherent the cardigans around in the early 70s? they where on the european progressive circutt back then alongside YES, Deep Purple, Uriah Heep and Free.

the best new album of the past two years is 'a bustle in your hedgerow' by down. If you haven't you checked it out, you fucking well should.

As far as good newish albums goes, I checked out Phelps & Munro's 'Slowpoke' and that's worth checking out. The most interesting New Zealand release I've heard since rotor+'s 'Aileron'. I wouldn't recommend it to everyone, but it's good to see the diversity of stuff (still) coming out of NZ.

I wrote some more in his artist forum:
