Forums: Bands,

Just checked out the album. Pretty amazingly well put together! I'm not such a big fan of some of the space invaders type melodies in there, but the rhythmic sensibility's awesome and the guitar elements work in with the electronic aspects very nicely.

Although I love dub, it's really nice to hear an electronic release from New Zealand that doesn't sound directly dub influenced too.

And of course... a beautiful cover! Yay!

I'm most surprised at the lack of comments.
His performance before Amon Tobin was one of the best gigs I've been to in a long time. Tobin himself was only so so, but Gerald Phillips (I believe thats his name?) was excellent!
I'll be looking forward to his next performance at Summer series.
oh yes!

stopped in during a visit from london to see the Amon Tobin gig in Auckland and it rrrocked... another fine sonic assault. first time i've seen Phelps & Munro and i thought he was wiiicked, hope to see the likes of him in London soon

yay summer series was great :)
specially Phelps & Munro.
fun in the sun!

Phelps & Munro plays his first Wellington gig this Thursday at Matterhorn...kicks off at 11..gold coin entry, support from The Inkling, see ya there

Phelps & Munro MUST come to Wellington again. Matterhoe gig sold out in a bad way, I got nicely drunk & excited only to get turned away at the door. Stink buzz.

Slowpoke rocks, is there anything new on the horizen?

ghostplane remix, of all things, sometime soon (apparently).

totally loved the show at the classic incl that famiiar track you jaw droppingly chopped into a stomper.
nice work.

just bought slowpoke, bloody great album, WD :)

what's happening with this guy? makes one of the coolest albums in yonks and then farks off. what gives? he must be planning something spesh.

he plays the rare gig and I believe is starting to work on new material

Yeah I was told he's due to put something out this year.. but that's probably jinxed it, eh. We'll see.

I've been strangely addicted to his remix of SJD... this short little sketch of a track, off on a complete tangent to the original track. Oh, and it sounds good.
