Can someone please explain these steps? I've often heard of them, and i know it means a band has done good sales, but does anyone know the exact figures? And i also heard that it's different in nz from other parts of the world. Is it done per head of population?

Looking through the net now, and it looks like numbers aren't strictly to do with population - I think it depends on the industry. I suspect some countries adjust it occasionally depending on overall music sales.

Na, had a mate who was older than me and "cooler" in the druggie group - and he was quite surprised that i was so happy and didn't do drugs. I guess he assumed that i was on speed or something.... :o)
He said that he thought it was cool and respected me for not doing drugs - i've actually had quite a few people say that to me..... and since then i've never really wanted to. I was about 15 at the time, and considering it, (parents knew EVERYTHING) and glad i decided not to. Others do, my real dad smokes probably an ounce or two at least a week. :o) And my brother was into it, and most of my friends do it, but none of them have a problem with me not diong it. I guess it's cos i dont' care if they do, and i'm not a wet-blanket at parties and stuff.
