A band is famous when they are recognised on the streets. If their name was said in a conversation and every one recognises their name then they are famous. famous is similar to popular and popular means well knowen. They are well knowen when their music is played on t.v and radio, when they have albums/cds/singles ect. If alot of people have heard of your group and heard your music then you are concidered famous you dont necessarily have to have a good album or won any prizes for your music you just have to be heard
Bands should be recognised for their talent, their sense of style, their hard work/efforts, for coming out in the first place with relentless finished products, for having wicked or great personalities..and simply for being a natural on the stage.
unfortunatly these things really don't matter, all a band needs is to have fans and to be able to get new fans, this will ultimately result in 'fame' which could be described as being popular and known by a majoraty of people (or being a household name) but then again there could be a really shit band that is 'famous' in New Zealand but not elsewhere > so for a band to be considered famous they need this but on an international scale
