It takes me a while to really like a band.
A lot of the bands I listen to now I hated when I first heard them!!
I remember about 10yrs ago this girl was wearing a RHCP t-shirt & I was dissing her for liking them, but now I really like them.
Its funny how your tastes change over time

green day is great.
do you not find with some bands it takes a few listens to get into them, then you can not understand why you didn't love them to start with.
For me, blindmelon was pretty cool, but then after a couple listens I was completely turned onto them, and they have been one of my fave bands for many years. Sometimes (most of the time) with one listen I can't pick up everything going on in the song.

Yeah, I saw green day in LA about 9 years ago and thought they were great straight away, and much like AC/DC and G'n'R they're a band that I can listen to any time, no matter what mood i'm in...I guess it just puts my head back to good memories of a great time.
Other bands have grown on me over the years that I never used to dig, probably the best one like that for me is Frank Zappa, my older brother used to thrash it and I though it was too weird, but luckily i've grown to appreciate the amazing versatility and quirky humour.
