Admittedly I signed before you even posted this topic. I don't even live in Auckland, but I met a very special friend outside that building for the first time, so it holds a special significance in my heart.
Hey guys - I'm Peter, part of the group thats been putting up the posters (Coming Soon: Ugly Building) and running the site. I'm sure you've all got the idea of what we're trying to do - Auckland is going to become a giant concrete mess if we're not careful. We need to protect what's good about our city. THANKS TO ALL WHO HAVE SIGNED! We've got heaps more planned for the coming days.
But I do have a favour to ask. Tomorrow (Wednesday) we're sending out a massive press release to media from all over New Zealand, and they'll all be checking out our site. So what we need is as many signatures as possible. We're aiming to achieve 500 in the next 24 hours! I know you've all signed, but what would be GREAT would be if you could email your friends, MSN them, wahteverm and get them to sign too.
We need to look after our city - we only get one shot at protecting the chamring old buildings. "Wake up auckland - and smell the concrete!"
I doubt petitions will stop them from tearing em old buildings down. U need to get physical! Are u ready to give ur life in stoping those corporate bastards?!
At this point I was going to resort to sarcasm over the coolness of cooldude23, but he doesn't leave much room for imagination. Instead I'll resort to name-calling. Moron.
