After reading ur posts in NZ's best bassist we are all too aware of your tendency to dissaggree. I dont really know why you think cmo AREN'T amazing though. I am sure you could break it right down for us, I am also nearly certain that you wont.

Lena, that's exactly the way we see our music, it's the sole reason we throw so much of ourselves at every song. I don't know where you got the idea that our material is self-serving from, you obviously don't know any of us even if you think you do.

I'm curious. When did you stop raving about us and start slagging us off? Was there some monumental disaster you befell at our hands that has since turned you to a path of indignation? Or did you just wake up one morning and say to yourself "I think I don't like CMO anymore"?
Because you've posted some very positive stuff about us in the past, and you obviously LOVE Rene, so what's the story? Have we offended you in some measurable way? Or are you just having a wee hissy fit at us for no reason?
You say a friend of yours met Andy once and said he was kinda shy. That's hardly cause for outcry, is it. If you ever come to any of our gigs I think you'll find that we're all very approachable, so introduce yourself. We're not going to bite.
So instead of just masturbating in front of your computer in between Counterstrike games and CMO bitch-slap sessions, why don't you redirect your energy into something more positive. Because you're getting boring, Ron. Boring as all fuck.

So basically you're saying you don't like my lyrical style, and the meaning in my writing is lost on you. There are plenty of other people who can relate to the "theme and vision" in what I'm saying who have told me the exact opposite of what you're trying to.
That's ok with me man, you don't have to like everything about what we do, but I'd ask that you respect the fact that music is, to a musician, an extremely personal journey - telling someone that the music that comes from within themself is shite is basically like saying that they are.

If there's a suggestion you have to make, then make it constructive, don't waste your creative energy dissing someones sound, of all things... What's so offensive about a bit of chorus that you just can't get past, anyway? I've been playing in bands with Fud for over ten years now, I've seen him move from what may have been the type of technical focus you're all accusing him of having now, to what I consider to be a strong emphasis on "the song"/"the music". Slap ruckus is used where appropriate, not gratuitously, along with the rest of his array of technique, to create degrees of light and shade. If you're still coming to our gigs, try to listen to it that way.

It's much more rewarding to find things you like about something than looking for things to dislike bro... Or if there's something you just can't get around to liking, and you feel you have to say something publicly about it, at least do Fud the courtesy of backing up your statements with some kind of reason. You seem to be of the opinion that you're doing him some great favour by dissing him like this, maybe you could explain to nzmusic.com readers how this is supposed to work? Or at least explain to us all why your opinion is so much more valid than everyone elses...

ronald james appears to be sick of fud's arrogance, you can defend yourself far more effectively by not responding to criticism with "i can play better basslines than you, dare you to learn them, nyaahh nyaahh", "i earn 40000 just to teach bass" (note that any other self-respecting musician would say "i teach bass to the kids because i love it") or "go back to masturbating between CS sessions"

from what i can see, fud needs an ego check, i admire him in the respect that his playing style would have taken a lot of practice, but it's probably not too difficult to guess his influences

here's the thing, in order to become great, you need to stop believing you're good, there is ALWAYS room for improvement in the arts, it's fucking arrogant to assume that someone that's been teaching bass longer than he's been alive would have trouble learning his tool meets mr bungle basslines

The trouble with these forums is that it is so easy for one's words to be misinterpreted by someone else and end up coming away looking like a right gimp. So I'm not even going to try to defend my actions or words anymore, it's all falling on relatively deaf ears.
Suffice it to say that no, I will not answer your questions on a public forum and leave myself again wide open to the relentless and somewhat misguided attacks by certain members of this forum who may have a differing viewpoint. Because, like zhub, I haven't the time.
