In reading that essay, it reminded me of the Def Leppard concert at the Big top.
I listed it as a bad concert & gay, but not because of the musicians but the experience & observations I made.
Arriving in a Pink bus didn't help, having all manner of abuse & rubbish thrown at us.
Seeing a band I had enjoyed years earlier, in tight white pants with a sequinned blouses kind of threw me. The metal became all too pretty(gay) at the time when I liked ugly.
Most of my friends at the time were ugly, homophobic & none to clever, but they could distill there own bourban & grow there own weed & that seemed to be the attraction.
Most have disapeared up there own arses & I've moved on & stopped being so narrow minded.
Its amazing what happens when you consider other possibilities.

he said himself somewhere - i think i read it myself in Spin magazine around a decade ago (geez i feel old). and of course, by Band of the Year, i mean Album of the Year. have just been putting songs on my iPod ... the whole album went on ... couldn't find one song to leave off. brilliant, absolutely brilliant! hail!

Yeah, at the very least the singer/lyricist is gay.

The only tune of there's I actually know is 'Denim Demon'.. check out the lyrics!! (nb. pretty filthy) This is off an album called 'Ass Cobra'... which also includes a song called 'Sailor Man', I just noticed!
