When I saw the thread about metal here in the Bar I desperately wanted to get in there and write something like:
Metal sucks!!! Metalheads just get stoned when tehy should be up shaking their rumps and dancing!! All metallers aren't at all gay and suck no cocks!!! Metal requires people to play instruments and all that bollox when they should just be writing dance tracks!!!
... but then two wrongs don't make a right, eh?

The irony is that a major part of it was teaching them how to sit up straight and take micropauses so they didn't get OOS - and of course, I hated the job so much that I was stressed out, got OOS and quit after they made me do filing because I had a doctor's certificate saying I couldn't do computer work for a week. The reason for this is it is not a logically valid argument.
Because the value of one genre over another is based on opinion, your argument can be neither proved nor disproved. You just shouldn't make a statement and declare it true if the only thing backing it is one persons opinion over the next. Therefore, your argument does not compute.

Yes. Read the topic again, and you'll find that's exactly why jet posted this topic - as a good-humoured way of expressing his annoyance at people slagging off dance music in favour of metal. This topic is a send-up. Jet started by saying he hates metal because the musicians are talented instrumentalists, and aren't gay.

Actually that is bollocks. A logically valid argument does not need to be based on fact, and in fact can be quite absurd. For example, the following is a logical and valid argument:
All blue is fish.
All metal is blue.
Therefore, all metal is fish.
