it sounded too nu-metaly for me, which is disappointing, maybe it'll grow on me.

I think is sucks. Hetfield sounds like shit. They've tried to go back to their pre black album roots and failed miserably. What a horrible, horrible band.

i didnt think it was as good as the samples of other stuff ive heard i dont think. the vocal delivery seemed kinda lacking. still better than most new stuff ive heard in a long while.

According to Kirk there isn't many solo's on the album, maybe 2 or 3.
The song is growing on me now, its gone up to the 'ok' level now

Did I say I like the black album carl? I said i would rather as in if i had a choice listen to bomber over Metallica's worst albums to date (Load/Reload) which make them post-black. I haven't heard the whole black album mainly because i'm not a big fan of Metallica and metal in general but there are a few good songs on it and Enter Sandman isn't one of them. 80s Metallica isn't even worth the effort to like most of the time even though there were way more than a few good tunes.
If there's nothing wrong with liking Bomber and it's a matter of personal opinion, then surely Tama and I am Y can not like him!? Because that is their personal opinion.

Well your opinion sucks then. Way better? How exactly is James even just a bit better when Kirk can play rhythm just as well as him, whilst as the same time being able to shred like a motherfucker. Infact that's one of the stupidest things I've ever read. It seems like you write off any guitar player that shows technical skill. i agree with tama, james comes up with better riffs. he also comes up with better solos (imo) because kirk is just a guitar wank. you don't have to agree with me saul. i didn't expect you would.

slash plays fast, but at least what he plays sounds good. i think bucketheads whole nunchucks / breakdancing thing put me off. oh, and the fact that he wears a bucket on his head and is a guitar wank.

I read in mag once that Pat Smear wanted to get a electric guitar made only for rhythm guitarists, they would be without a cut-away, like a acoustic guitar , so no guitar wanks can play it.
Also Dimebag is bad at guitar wanking, this is one of the reasons I don't like Pantera. I was watching one of their songs on Mulch, it was just average rocking song & then out of nowhere come this sketching fast guitar solo, which ruined the song completely!!

And dude, Dime has some damn good bluesy solos. Download floods and you'll see what I mean. But pretty much all of heavy metal's solo work is rubbish. As I've said, slash is a truly amazing guitaist. Such feeling.

lets just say that i appreciate a well written, interesting guitar piece, rather than a stupid piece of guitar wank that only exists to 'showcase' a guitarists 'amazing' technical ability. that is my personal preference. you can be technically great without having a creative bone in your body. anyone who can move their fingers quickly can guitar wank. it takes alot more than that to write good music (in my opinion). guitar wankers are overrated.

Ok, I see where you're coming from. I don't mean to sound like a broken record, but buckethead is extremely creative. Download something like 'for mom' or anything of his album 'electric tears'. really, really nice melodic pieces. And surely you've heard 'madagascar' from gn'r? Nobody in the world could write a solo like that.

robin finck is not trash. give him a little credit. he would not be in NIN or in your favourite band (the gay one) if he was crap. he plays well, he plays with feeling, he has an amazing stage presence, i love his style, etc etc etc. i never claimed him to be the worlds greatest, just that i really like him!
