Violent Femmes and Goldenhorse

So who's going to the Wellington gig on Saturday night? I'm looking forward to seeing Goldenhorse again after their Bodega gig a few weeks back...oh, and I nearly forgot, there's the Violent Femmes too ;)

Forums: The Bar,

I am going.

I am excited.

i wanted to go (sunday night, st james) but i'm going to death in june and NON at the kings arms instead.

i'm going to the auckland gig, and i am making a mess with my ... anticipation

ooo! fetch me the robin finck lookalike while you're there (if he's working, that is)!!

if i see anyone that resembles robin finck i shall inform him that he must go to the kings arms, post haste, and search out the murder doll :)

I wasn't sure if I had the cash and apparantly it has sold out.
Though don't know how realiable my source is.
Oh well there is always J Mascis.

I heard that Ticketek has sold out, but Real Groovy still has a few tickets left. Although I'm not sure about the reliability of my source either.

cheers. I might follow that up.

if the wellington show was anywhere near as good as the auckland show then there are a lot of v.f fans with a great big smile on your dial

and if you didn't go, you are a fool

that crazy drummer!

The Wellington show was all that could have been asked. Every song I wanted to hear, every bass solo I wanted to witness. Big grins and random joyous hugging post show... awesome.

Word from the staff is that Gordon and Brian were having a fight, and weren't talking to eachother before or after the show (Brian hung around afterwards and drank)... but it didn't show on stage at all.

Goldenhorse were beautiful, as always. I now have the album. Don't like it as much as seeing them live, though.

yeah, G.H's strength is definitely in the live performance area, though Riverhead the recorded song is pretty comparable to the live version

bloody temperamental old men :) victor was wicked

i agree about goldenhorse being better live. more rockier. spose it depends whether you are after sweet sunday afternoon stuff or funky stuff to dance to. id say theyre more likely to hook ppl in live than thru the album.
