I can't believe I'm doing this but I have to mention this song:

12 minutes of oh yeah.

Lemon Jelly - Space Walk

king crimson - starless
john butler trio - money

shihad-do the headless chicken
shihad-screwtop (demo)

Heh. I haven't done this for a while, but the bar downstairs at the cook can be tolerable every now and then, but the music and crowd is not the best. My personal way of remedying this is to go over to the jukebox, and see if I can crack an hour of music with a $2 coin. This tends to annoy people wearing whitepants.

The selection on the jukebox isn't great but the following may be useful (they're often on jukeboxes, and are excellent for draggin out the time):
Stairway to Heaven, Achilles Last Stand, Kashmir (Led Zeppelin)
Tender (Blur)
No woman, no cry (Bob Marley)
Champagne Supernova (Oasis)
November Rain (GNR)
Then I usually pick a couple on merit to add to that.

If they are foolish enough to have CDs with hidden tracks, they can be quite good, as long as nobody decides the jukebox is "broken", so best left til last.

Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody

That's under 6 minuntes, sorry. Classic song though.

GnR - November Rain
Tool - Reflection
Metallica - Fade to black

oh yeah i forgot

Iron Maiden - hallowed be thy name

hehe my bad

also on the Maiden tip, "Rhime Of the Ancient Mariner"

Led Zep - Dazed and Confused (off The Song Remains The Same)
32 minutes well spent

Thats a mean doco man (kind of doco), I watched it a few saturdays ago on channel one, started at like 11 at night which sucked... anyway I love the drum solo where john starts using his hands,, its really quite primal... and the drag car racing they show during it.

Jethro Tull -- Thick as a Brick
Pink Floyd -- Shine on you crazy Diamond

Shine On You Crazy Diamond-Pink Floyd is a favourite of mine too.

O'Malley's Bar by Nick Cave, off of Murder Ballads. 14 minutes of straight killin'.

You sooo stole my first pick. :P

Smashing Pumpkins - 'Starla'
Sonic Youth - 'The Diamond Sea'
Sonic Youth - 'The Sprawl'

...and probably loads more - I seldom look at the time index on my player...

Mogwai - 2 Rights Make 1 Wrong, My Father My King (over 20 minutes of Steve Albini produced noise)
Sigur Ros - Sevfn-G-Englar

I think that is an appropriate title...

Marquee Moon...Television..

and I'm sure there's a few others by the velvet underground and radiohead I'm struggling to think of.

the live version of 'everything in its right place' cracks 7 mins. its fecking good too.

I was similary stoked with the grandaddy choice, never met anyone else who's into them.
Have you heard Under the Western Freeway (album before software slump)?
Also to all those people that put November Rain. Come on seriously. All I can say is don't pick the first song you can think of over 7 mins, it says "favourite" songs over 7mins.
Hey XTC fan.........how long is Jason and the Argonauts ?
