DEJA VOODOO AT KINGS ARMS TONIGHT

Anyone in Auckland going to the Deja gig tonight - combined with Machine Gun Fellatio it could be one of the more strange and wonderful gigs of the year!

Any Orklanders going to check it out?

Forums: The Bar,

How many dollars, and what time is this?

Deja Voodoo on at 9:30 - tickets are $22 from Real Groovy and $25 from the door.

... thats too many dollars for me.

$25 is good for an international act but sorry to say it's a bit beyond me at the moment

Looks like I'm watching Stargate tonight, hopefully Daniel will make a return

that's back on? shit! I haven't watched tv in few months :p

I'm considering it, but probably not enough to end up going. I'm kinda knackered, and Monk is on the telly.

Up to you I guess - but Monk will be on again and the vcr is in almost every NZ gome!

and some homes too!

//I was ducking for cover for a sec there.......
Wow, that's almost a compliment. If you actually met me and I got stroppy, you'd laugh in my face.

"oooooo chunnthta, yor thucth a bitcth!" "take that!" "and that!"

woa you fight dirty

Okay I was at the MGF / Deja Voodoo gig in Welly last night (all thanks to my sister who paid for my entry fee - gorvel).

Deja Voodoo were very enjoyable, hadn't seen them before and I had a lot of fun bouncing round to them. Good act, cheesy rock music a-go-go and general fun and mayhem...

MGF we're fucking great - just a pity about the slightly small crowd... really enjoyable, good mix, jumping genres like nobodies business.... They played a fair bit of stuff from their most recent album (no surprises there) which a decent amount of the crowd knew.

My only complaint of the night was that they didn't play Unsent Letter (either electically or the stripped back accoustic version - I would have been happy with either of them)...

Yeap.

PHOTOS OF FELLATIO

So, like... when things say "first band on @ 9.30" who ACTUALLY believes that? My friend & I certainly didn't ; so I was happy to wait in her living-room watching the end of the video that her co-habitants had been watching - while she did giry-girl things in the bathroom and bedroom and bathroom and bedroom ..... and bathroom and bedroom...

So we arrived to the hear the final chord of the last Deja Voodoo song. Bloody good it was too. I suspect the set that preceeded it was bloody good also.

I got trigger happy with the digicam for Machine Gun Fellatio and the fruits of my snapping-excess are up at .... (shameless plug)

aaaaaah the memories!!

Good to see you enjoyed yourselves Scott, Geekboy etc...Pity you missed the deja voodoo set - funny about the whole starting at a certain time thing, cos I allowed about fifteen minutes for delays and missed the first three songs! Gigs seem to have actually begun starting on time - weird!

I thought both the bands were great. MGF were obviously a lot tighter (deja voodoo are just getting back into the swing of it after being in England with the tv show etc) - but both were kicking out some funny tunes, and you could see the crowd were really enjoying themselves.

Although minimal in its execution, I thought the MGF opener "Let Me Be Your Dirty Fucking Whore" was absolutely hilarious! Deja Voodoo's "Feelings" and "Your Boyfriend Sux" were sensational slices of comic rock. Definately good fun had by all.

yes please, i too was there, my ears were knotted for the whole weekend from standing right next to the front-door side speakers, worth every penny, and the resulting hangover, deja voodoo were fucking great, matt crawling on his back on the floor was definitely a highlight, Jack the Ripper was excellent! they need to do more gigs, and i'm shocked and appalled that there's no entry for them in the NZMusic artist forums

"i would give you one of my beers
but i've only got six"

MGF were unsuprisingly fantastic as well - inflatable poodle *shudder*

the crowd were pretty good, only complaint being the occasional shout outs for "Feelings" come on guys, of course they're gonna play it! i'm more interested in hearing the stuff you can't get off their website!

i do have to say i was there for DV.

Anyone here go to the gig they did just before they left for the UK? the BOTY Hollywood special screening gig? that was a damn good gig, but so long ago!

More DEJA VOODOO!
