I'm a lonely bassist seeking a girlfriend to do nothing with on friday nights
I'm sick of how guitarists always get girlfriends and bass players and drummers never do
If you play bass too that would be cool then we could write eachother songs and I will sing mine to you when you wake up

You sound just right, next time I come to Wellington I would like to spend some time with you, maybe we can drink coffee in the rose gardens, then later on eat fried rice before we go to a gig and stay out all night looking at the stars, then we will go back to your house, exhausted, and lay on your bed, not moving. When we wake up I will make you pancakes and chocolate coffee as you play long, beautiful serenades on your bass, looking into each others eyes.

I saw a personalised plate on a car ...

I saw a personalised plate on a car here in Chch recently - someone obviously wanted the word "sheila" really badly but had to settle for a "4" instead of an "A", a "5" instead of an "S" and they got the "E" and the "I" round the wrong way.

I thought it was funny yet sad. So sad.

though that could be due to the fact that the guitarist is engaged and the drummer has a girlfriend already, and those chicks are tough as- any groupie would be risking her life! ;)

I have worked with sooo many bands and it's true, bassists are generally overlooked... however not by chicks who truelly appreciate what the bass brings to the sound - it's an intergral part of the rhythm section... and ya know what they say about having good rhythm! Anyway, stay strong bASS playa - us bass-player-appreciaters are out there...

bass is cool to jump around to. hell, it's different rock star moves and all, but cos you usually work only single strings at a time and they're spread across the fret board further than a guitar's it's easy to air chop and do flying kicks whilst playin.

also, girls seem to have the idea that you have good 'finger work' if you're a bassist. tho i've never had groupies, i sure did get more attention than the rest of the band i was in. that was pretty sweet. there's nothing quite so cool, yet at the same time embarrassing, as having a girl recognise you and come on to you, whilst not realising you're standing right next to your own bandmates.

tho my ex-gf did think our drummer was hot...but then she drums too.
