just wondering how many others get this problem, with artsits you dont like with usual crap stuff, suddenly bring out a song you enjoy, but are annoyed with youself for liking it. I've had that problem a little. But now it's rediculous, the new linking park song, i am turning up whenever it comes on radio, what is happening to me?

I have this problem as well. Except I decided a while ago that it shouldn't be a problem. I do believe in supporting artists that I like. But sometimes an artist Igenerally like will create a song I hate, and sometimes an artist I hate writes something magic.
Ultimately, I like to think that liking an artist is like liking a genre. It's a rule of thumb for finding music that you like, but it's hardly a guarantee. There is some music I still have to hate on ethical principal (although having said that I can't work out who they'd be), but I'll allow a band I don't like to seduce me with a song.
Perhaps the worst is one of those club remixes or songs which steels a riff that you like, and then destroys it. There is that song which has Joan Jett's I love Rock'n'Roll riff. It gets my hopes up briefly, and then brings me crashing down. That song is only catchy inasmuchas I love the riff.

yeah it is!, the parts of the song i really listen for is the soft parts, where the rapper dude is rapping. That for me makes it catchy and makes me want to listen to it, the chorus and the rest isnt really appealing

Superficial's definitly the word, Achilles. Though, I guess, it's always gonna be personal opinion...maybe hearing the song was by LB took all the enjoyment out of listening for the girl. If that were the case, I don't think it would be 'wrong', what IS wrong is when people SAY they hate a song just because of the artist, even though they actualy like the song ("closed-minded" seems to apply)
All that said, if Dolf Datsun was doing a solo ABBA-covers show acapella, I'd go, and ENJOY it, simply because it's Dolf.
So, liking something for who does it (not what it is) works both ways, I suppose.
