umm well i'd rather see billy mike and jimmy move on with zwan than make smashing pumpkins turn to crap, well ava ador sucked in my opinion, but machines of God was a great album (to me at least)... though one could argue (from what i've heard of them) zwan is just happy sounding pumpkins
i'd also love to see rage reunite with zak.
and well i don't like limp bizkit too much so, yeah... i don't care.
I got the Zwan album and I'm loving it. They're not exactly a supergroup (yet), but Mary Star Of The Sea is a good, ole-fashioned "rawk" album. What I like about it is that - both musically and lyrically - it is less overblown than some of the Pumpkins' later efforts. I liked Adore very much, but half of Mellon Collie and much of Machina made me want to jump out the window.
Anyway, I think Morrissey should return to his first band. Marr can to, for that matter. Yeah, yeah - wishful thinking, I know.
None of them! theyre all in pretty good groups and have made pretty good music with one band already. theyre obviously gonna have strengths in one band and strenght in the others... something that doesnt sound good to u might sound awsome to someone else.
Wes is to good for limp shit anyway, I'm so glad he left.. I mean like it or not he is a good guitarest...anyone heard his new bands mp3 sampes at his site yet?? www.eattheday.com ..its fuckin awesome. :)
I wouldn't mind seeing Jim Martin getting back in the FNM saddle. But apart from that, I think most band lineup changes over the years have been for the best.
Which brings me to RHCP - I was delighted when they resurrected their Mother's Milk/Blood Sugar lineup only to discover that they have all grown very old and tired. Perhaps good things come to an end for a reason.
agreed with the Jim M thing. But with RHCP, while I love their earlier stuff with the crazy energy vibe, I think maybe now they are a bit older and have the experience/wrinkles of the rocker lifestyle- maybe their influences have grown and changed... they're a more eccentric. evolved band that appeals to a different group of people, but still definately have an audience to make music for..
Black Francis / Frank Black - I only wish the Pixies would reform so I could actually get a chance to see them play live :-) Of course The Breeders rock, as does a lot of Frank Blacks solo stuff and I must say that of the group members I have most enjoyed Joey Santiagos project with his wife 'The Martini's'. Oh course pigs are more likley to fly than this too happen...
oh fuck yes, i would probably shit my pants with glee, if you were lucky enough to see the breeders live a couple of weeks ago you would have heard them perform gigantic, that was incredible, even with the skewed lineup it was perfect-o, like hearing it for the first time again
really enjoyed seeing kim & kelly chainsmoking like little troopers, rock chicks rock!!
in some ways i don't think they could ever recapture what they had though, nothing they ever did since really compared to the absolute magic the pixies fired out at you
i think a reformed faith no more would be nothing like old faith no more, from what i've read, patton and spruance apparently don't even talk anymore (or were you referring to dean menta with the kfad lineup there?) mike bordin's touring as ozzy's drummer, i don't know what the others are up to but i do know that bill gould has always done collaborations outside of FNM and that roddy bottum has his imperial teen.
patton once said though, sure he likes the music he did with faith no more, but he wouldn't want to go back, it's just like sitting at home masturbating over baby photos.
onwards and upwards i guess, his projects since have been exceptional however.
Yeah... I aren't actually anticipating a reforming of Faith No More... and if I had managed to see them live, then I probably wouldn't want them to reform. And yes... Mike is out there doing good stuff for the team.
As much as it makes me almost cry that i'll never see Smashing Pumpkins live, i'm loving the happy Billy album. Can't wait to see Audioslave in april, loving it more than RATM - more melody
I don't think many people know about 'the Marked' unless they've watched Viewphoria, so we mean Smashing Pumpkins, Billy didn't even really like that band, well his singing in it anyway
Yeah i know they won't reform , this makes me sad. Rather than having one over the other though, i'd just rather have them both, they're two totally different sounds. Demon Cleaner, Whitewater and Space Cadet are my fave songs, i just love Josh Homme in whichever band he's my fave guitarist of all time!!
