Well, hopefully my brain is working enough to do justice to this.
Went to see Batrider at Indigo last night and I was totally blown away by how good they were. I especially liked the song Toby sung and the last song they played.
Drumming was wicked and as a whole they were really tight as a band, evidence of the work they've been putting in methinks.
I must say that Indigo is definately taking priority for my Tuesday nights from now on, cheap booze and free bands, its a bloody good combination.
Really looking forward to catching Batrider again, so when is the next gig?

Saw them, enjoyed them...
Well worth while even though I had no money for booze or cigarettes...
Very big, loud, kinda reminded me of Elastica in the odd place, but not enough for it to matter...
Actually really really enjoyed them!! Heard them practising on Monday night and though 'cool have to see them tomorrow'... Wasn't disappointed...
I'm rambling...

also heard them through the walls of the factory, and resolved to see 'em live on that basis. they rawked. more so when the levels settled and the vocal foldback was brought up for them.

I heard that the next gig is sometime around easter and they will be practising hard out.
I concur with the toby morris comment about him singing he seriously ruled.
I think that as long as they continue to mix it up with the different players playing different roles.
I liked the last song especially the guitar part that julia was playing.
my only negatvie comment is that it was a pinch too loud.
I really think that are going to be the wellington band to watch this year.

often a good drummer goes unoticed when they are so good. and the lighting used made her lok demonic it ruled. it is so good to see such a strong scene at the moment with some really good talent coming up.

stonking, sort of 90's indie rock but with an extra kick. That second song when they played that heavy metal riff ruled. I think that is where they are best, when they take the song somewhere else if only for an instant. can't wait to see them again.

Thanks so much for the kind words people!
We all had a fantastic night - such a good time - it's really awesome when you've been working hard at something to find out people do enjoy it.
Next gig? I'll post on here as soon as I know - but it'll be early April I think.
On a personal note - thanks heaps for kind words re: my singing - once again that's just such wicked fun, and I'm so glad you thought it was OK. I'll pass on your other comments to the rest of the band as well - cheers!

great band all round. your singing was great toby, it's cool to have a bit of a contrasting vocal in the mix. every one was awesome. the drummer was slamming, the lead was melodic, beautiful and interesting, the gats and bass were a machine when everything locked together. loved sarahs(?) singing/scream too. that's gotta be hard to keep up.
i'm looking forward to seeing you guys progress.
a few tips - don't be scared to borrow a gat tuner or 2 and a bass rig while you're starting out. also, i would have liked to see more than just the profile of your lead guitarist (julia?) - 90 degrees is all it takes to show a bit more confidence in your body language and keep on practicing as much as you can.
all in all for a pack of girls this band is very cool. can't wait for the next one.

thanks so much for the feedback,
its really awesome to hear some criticism and we do need to be more onto it with tuning etc... but as for that 90 degrees- i dunno, its pretty scary.
toby will wear a skirt one of these days. i'm working on that.
come and play auckland sometime soon!...
