Why I Wish The Muppets Were Still On

...and I'm talking about the original series - not that silly muppet TV thing.

Special Guest Stars: The Matrix cast - Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss and Lawrence Fishburne.
Kermit and Fozzy play the agents - Kermit does a very convincing Hugo Weaving. In every sketch, a phone rings and the muppet that answers it disappears. Bunsen Honeydew makes a virtual-reality headset and tests it on Beaker; Beaker becomes an out-of-control kung fu fighter and breaks up the whole lab. Bunsen Honeydew answers the phone and disappears.

Special Guest Star: Eminem
I'd really like to see 'The Real Slim Shady' with those nasty ugly babies all dressed up as Slim Shady.

Special Guest Stars: The Datsuns
Floyd and Janice are worried that the Electric Mayhem band may be replaced by The Datsuns and lock Dolf and Christian in the cleaning closet for most of the show. Animal thinks they're all women (long hair, you see), and falls in love with Matt, plying him with wilted flowers and shredded cuddly toys. Phil accompanies Wayne and Wanda for a ballad, but the set crashes down the moment he hits the first note.

Forums: The Bar,

Then go buy the videos then with the unreleased footage. Or unless ur talking about a different muppet show.

eh? I'm talking about my fantasy muppet show series...

it was in reply to: //...and I'm talking about the original series - not that silly muppet TV thing.

What I meant was I like the original Muppet Shows when they were in the theatre - not the later series when they were running a TV studio.

brilliant. Animal playing drums for the Datsuns would be, uh, actually, not to dissimilar from Matt playing drums for the Datsuns.

Special Guest Stars: Back of the Y

Gonzo and the Back of the Y team attempt to out-do each other in a series of increasingly improbable and outlandish stunts. Eventually the entire muppet theatre is destroyed as Matt Heath and Gonzo simultaneously try to shoot themselves into orbit using a cannon built by Prof. Honeydew and things 'GO HORRIBLY WRONG!'

// Animal playing drums for the Datsuns would be, uh, actually, not to dissimilar from Matt playing drums for the Datsuns.

and animal is a way better drummer! :D

Special Guest Stars: Helen Clark and Aerosmith

Fozzy Bear falls in love with Helen Clark who is too busy trying to discuss national policy with Kermit the Frog. The show ends with Aerosmith playing "Dude looks like a lady", shaking their heads at Fozzy Bear as he sighs at an autographed picture of Ms.Clark.

how bout peter dunne guest stars.

Miss Piggy pushes him into a bucket of acid then ties him to the back of a pick up and drives him around gonzos backyard at high speed till 'e expires. then nandor tanczos comes on and is honered a national hero. and dey go backstage and smoke sum rasta

These are awesome. Sadly, my head is too fuzzy for anything creative today ...

Floyd Pepper is my muppet idol. No one's ever gonna replace that hep cat

Can You dig it? I knew you could.

Is he the guy with a giant gold-capped tooth, and sparkling hat?

You're thinking of Dr Teeth maybe

Yeah Dr Teeth was my favourite cause he looked like a pimp.

Dr Teeth Profile
Special Talents: Being cool, Tickling the ivories, and playing the piano.

What the hell is Tickling the ivories?

//What the hell is Tickling the ivories?

Playing the piano. Don't know why they needed to list it twice.

Just so they can mess with my head...

I wish they'd repeat the originals on tv sometime (& no, I don't want to buy them) 'cos when they were on, I was much too young to appreciate the humour (aged 4? 5? 6? ish) but Kermitt was my favourite & I had a soft toy of him.

Also, the TV Studio version was called Muppets Tonight.

Years and years ago, I had the forethought to tape a whole bunch of the old episodes. I still pull them out and watch them every once in a while. And I have the soundtracks to all of the old movies.

I found a shirt at the salvation army that had a big picture of Animal on it, and it said "WANT WOMAN!" across the top. I used to wear that shirt all the time. I just recently gave it to a friend of mine who is a drummer, and he wears it to gigs. The bass player for his band looks just like Zoot.

I seriously think that watching the muppet show as a child has shaped who I am more than any other cultural stimulus. When I get older, perhaps I'll write a book about the real 'greatest generation' --the Muppet Show Generation.

the muppets definitly shaped who i am, i don't think my boyfriend understands that I think the muppets take manhattan is one of the greatest movies ever

i remember the muppets used to be on saturdays at lunchtime around 15 years ago, classic TV Really.

Animal and Bonham:- Rock Drummer Role Models

I have the muppets tune for my fone ring :P
