Just in response to a crap day on the forums...

Don't let the crap parts of being a music fan let you forget what enjoying music (and THIS music scene) is all about ... pure fucking intoxicating fun. Better than sex. Everyone's addiction comes in different shades and textures and you'll never understand the new ones if you think you've got it "right" already.

I saw some photo's of some bands I saw live recently and I know if I talked to the "critics" they'd slam me for even enjoying the show, but NO-ONE can take the fun I had away.

I say look hard for the good times musically (and call me a hippie or condescending if you want - I'm not). Sometimes it's hard work finding shit to celebrate. My last memory .. Mana, NGEddie and Prozaco know how to celebrate.

SO whats up? really... where's my next hit?

but yes i agree - seeing bands live, especially ones that you love give an incredible feeling.....
They have live bands playing every weekend where i work and its great (if i can't do it myself, i fully support those who can) Thats why i work there.... anyways i think i missed the point of your topic... but if you swing by my town - theres lots of live gigs (not really well known bands - but talented people :-) ) apart from blindspott this weekend! YAY

cant agree more. at the BDO 2 of my favourite bands were there and especially during the foo fighters... well lets just say it was the best fuken day of my life!!! :D

there seriously is nothing like seeing ...

there seriously is nothing like seeing one of your favourite bands live. or a band who you have never really heard of before, but then you see them live and they become one of your favourites.
I have enjoyed every single gig I've been to. i doubt i'd notice if there was anything off about the performance or the sound or anything like that, im pretty easy to please and if the atmospheres good, then the whole thing just rocks! I just wish there were more gogs i could go to. I either can't go because they are R18 gigs, or they are just too far away. Or i can't afford it. I can't wait till I'm 18. Roll on September!

You have no idea how jealous I am that you have the opportunity to see these bands live. I wish I could. I do have to say, though, it wasn't until I started participating in this forum that I actually started appreciating my own music scene. Witnessing the enthusiasm of all of the people here, musicians and fans alike, is like a breath of fresh air (I swear I'm not trying to turn this into another 'feel the love' topic. I have strep throat and I'm a wee bit delirious, so cut me some slack).

So here's my proposition: We should set up a Cultural Exchange Program between the SPMC and NZM. You send me your Two Lane Black Top, I'll send you my House of Large Sizes. You send me Paselode, I'll send you the Mammy Nuns. You send me the D4, I'll send you the Dillinger 4. Sounds fair? I thought so.

Yay us!

Went and saw Valley 5, School of Meat and Side Project last night - and there SHOULD have been a most pit. Place had a decent crowd of goths and hardcore kiddies, and me a be' were the only ones fucken moving. Granted... we had drunk a bottle of Blue label Smirnoff... don't know why I mentioned this... There are some cool things going on in the Hardcore scene... get in while the goings good, people. Celebrate!
