North Shore Summer Series

i went to the rock day out of the north shore summer series at marlborough park today, and i have to say it was pretty damn good. despite there being a small crowd, i reckon that all the guys put on a really good show. i got there sorta late-ish but big ups to the guys i did see- fluid, ubiquitous, savant, stylus and bolbox rex. did any of u guys out there happen to check em out, or any of the other of the summer series?

Savant used to have two songs played on hte rock a lot... but i haven't heard them played in like a year i'd say. I really liked them, do they have any records? or a site to find information about them on? (i guess theres probably a link on this site if they is.. i'll go look)

there EP is all sold out, which sucks... well great for them. I don't believe in buying singles... i'll just have to wait for there album... unless they have songs on kazaa.. i doubt it though

I was at the "Rock Day Out" and the hip ...

I was at the "Rock Day Out" and the hip hop Summer Music Series. Because of my musical taste, I had a better time yesterday at Marlborough Park.

There is a real sense of community at that Marlborough Park. If the skate park had have been finished, it would have been cooler but that was ok because they had people there playing basket ball, tennis etc. Every time I have ever been to that park, there have been about 50 or more people using what the 'facilities' of the park. I guess it'd be a cool place to live?

My favourite bands on the day were ubiquitous, fluid, stylis and bolbox rex. ubiquitous were good because i always see them and they're always good.. it was the first time I had seen fluid live, and their live sound was fucking awesome! Their first song was cool.. I think both guitars and bass were all playing the same thing. That sounded phat!!!!!! This was the second time I have seen Stylus play, and of course they rocked, as they always do. Then finally..... Bolbox Rex! THE Bolbox Rex!! Who didn't enjoy them?

After first of all, hearing some Bolbox Rex ilegal mp3s, seeing them featured at the Big Day Out on Squeeze, watching their two songs on Space on Friday night, it didn't suprize me at all how amazed I would be on Feb 22 at Marlborough Park.

Anyway... I could say a lot about all these bands. They all rocked. If any of you ever get the chance to see any of the bands who performed at the Summer Music Series Rock Day Out (sushi, ubiquitous, down2one, fluid, savant, stylus, bolbox rex), you must! They are all very entertaining!
