Two-dollar Treasures

A spin-off from that $2 Shop discussion. What goodies have you discovered for two bucks or less at said shop? Here's what I dug up:

- A keyring featuring a rubber-duckie floating in a snowglobe-type setup (my fave)
- A packet of "Class of '95" College Basketball trading cards
- A pad and pencil
- A plastic monkey mask
- Streamers
- A rubber hamburger
- Plastic fruit
- A smily-face stress ball
- A countryside scene mug

Forums: The Bar,

* A smily-face stress ball

I love those things. We've got a bunch of 'em. Excellent for indoor cricket with the wee fellers...

* really cool noodle bowls
* really big and solid coffee mugs

- a dollphin cellphone holder
- some prettttty "large bead" bracelets
- eyeliner that actually is better used as an eyebrow pencil [according to my mother]
- a gooooorgeous *cough* string of really plastic pearls
- a wine glass
- two cans of coke [warm]
- some funky gift bags
- a tape deck cleaning tape

- a 'Nurses' book (like babystitters club series, but about nurses)
- Plastic flowers
- Iceblock makers
- Breakdancing stag beetles & wasps (no spiders unfortunately)

i used to always get my little brothers some treats from the two dollar shop... just some junky toys that usually broke within the day, but they loved getting them nevertheless.

my brothers are gone now, so going to the two dollar shop makes me sad..... :(

- a recorder. i walked down queen street playing it. it was the most fun i had had in ages.
- various glittery type pens.
- keyrings with crazy sayings.
- a plastic guitar.

This gorgeous braclet.

Umm...I can't think what else, but when i first got sick my mate brought me a whole sack of presents from the 2 dollar shop. I got candles, bubble blowers, balloons, colouring books, pens, scrapbooks, silly putty, playdough, stress balls-it was really cute.

- A metal potato masher.
- A cool necklace.
- Some small squares of corrigated cardboard.
- A tape head cleaning tape.
- Candles

The potato masher was the most satisfying purchase. I'd been looking for one for ages and happened to be browsing in a Two Dollar Shop when I came across the kitchen utensils section. There were a whole lot of plastic potato mashers. I really wanted a metal one, but I figured a plastic one would work just as well so I grabbed one. I looked and discovered that I'd taken a metal masher. It appeared to be the only metal one in the store. I'm yet to make mashed potatos, though.

I've had real problems with plastic potato mashers. For some reason they just kinda squash rather than mashing - the potatoes don't actually squish up through the holes. It makes for rather an exhausting (and ultimately unsatisfying) potato-mashing experience. Metal's way better.

i use a fork to mash it... less dishes...

i brought a pare of aviators
that was about 4 weeks ago yeah!!!
always good for cheap shit the $2 is :D
