Kia Ora everyone. Recently The Gladeyes have been so busy I haven't had a lot of time to post anything on here. SO here's a little bit about what we've been up to so far this year; We kicked off the year with a small south island tour, which included places like Invercargill and Christchurch, we opened for PanAm in march and are opening for them again on July the 17th for Reorientation in Dunedin. Our single, Alive and High has been playlisted on several b-net stations throughout the country and has also been included on the soon to be released Radio One Sampler 2003. We're halfway (almost!) through recording our first album, and so far we're very happy with the results. Some up and coming gigs include Christchurch, Oamaru, Dunedin, Nelson and Wellington - so be on the lookout. Check out our website to find out more about us and the dates as they are confirmed. Also, a quick thankyou to everyone who has been supporting us - we couldn't believe the response we got at the battle of the bands recently; it's an odd feeling to have people singing along with you. Props to Alpha Cast for gainning first place a head of us!
don't give alpha cast props on your own page brother. they don't deserve them anyway!!! looking forward to catching up with you cats for a couple of gigs. peace.
Y'all. We're playing in Wellington on September the 4th with Nouveau Riche. Come out and check it out - it's our first show ever in the capital, and indeed the North Island. Our debut EP, What To Do? is coming out on September 13th. We're having an EP release party at Arc Cafe in Dunedin on that night so be there or be silly. We're also holding another release party at The Dux in Christchurch with Falter, thanks to RDU. Peace.
Awww 'Orkid weren't playing but I still went & I enjoyed you guys' music, so did my friend. She had expected to hate it. I liked the song that went 'da da da da da da da da' the best. Tiny crowd, but hey, I'm sure it was better than the Oamaru one ;-)
On a side note, was the first time in ages I've remembered ear plugs & they are great! I could hear the words & distinguish between instruments and my head wasn't ringing all night! Ear plugs really do make a gig so much better.
Hi y'all. We've just completed the first two gigs of our national tour at Wanaka and Queenstown with The Ken Nagas Extreme band. We're playing in Dunedin at Arc Cafe on tuesday the 3rd, timaru at the loaded hog on the 5th, the wunder bar in chch on the 6th and the phat club on the 7th before we cross over to the north island. Come and see what it's all about.
This Wednesday, the 18th of feb, we play at the Kings Arms in Auckland with Nagas and Jackpoint. Doors open at 8, don't miss out your chance to see what is happening down in dirty ole dunners live scene. We play in New Plymouth again the day after at the euphoria basement bar and finish our tour in Palmerston North at Guvnors. All shows are $5 all shows contain graphic depictions of 'Jive'.
hey thank you guys for the great night! u guys were whicked, love the cd too! and thanks for the very nice words to our band too...is incouraging and just plain nice:)

Our track 'What To Do' can be downloaded from our website. It was recently remixed and remastered at York Street for the music video, which should be out in the next week or two.

It was great to see The Gladeyes at Valve in Wellington. Mark produced a great sound for the band and it was an enjoyable set. A shame for The Gladeyes to have such a low turn out however I believe that they enjoyed an exceelent gig with an awesome turn-out at Dux de Lux in Christchurch!
Hey Tane, thanks for all your help and thanks to autumn stone and dangerpin. We were actually pretty happy with the turnout (about 80 through the door including the door list which is good for us). In Christchurch we had less than that but also had a real good show. Definately keep in touch!
Well we are hoping for a great gig in Dunedin. We only have one night becuase we are playing the Dux in ChCh on Thursday July 14 and then playing in Wanaka on Saturday 16. I'll let you know where we will be at and hopefully you can play as well!
Definately. I see you might be playing the bowler? If they give you a retainer it'll be sweet. We played there once opening for Stylus last year and had a wciked night. It was a different audience for us but they got really into it. Good luck! BTW> Just listened to payload on the website and it sounded wicked!
Hey thanks smile! We are playing at refuel on the Saturday the 23rd of July if you're keen. It will be a good show - the last show of our video release tour - with The Tomohawks and The Sweet Unknowns (both very good bands). Our video for what to do was on homegrown late last night in the unsigned section. It will be on coke hits and juice soon too, plus it should be on channel 9 cow TV on wednesday the 20th of July.
This Saturday (the 23rd of July) we are playing our final show of our video release tour at Refuel with The Tomahawks and The Sweet Unknowns. It will be fun plus if you are lucky you might be able to get a cd with the video on it and some new tracks from the upcoming album.
We are playing some shows in august, one on the 6th at Arc, the 20th at the Dux in Queenstown and the 26th at the Dux with the Heavy Jones trio. Australasian tour dates soon to come for october and another video.

Winter in Dunedin is notorious. Some choose to hibernate, others choose to simply leave. At some stage they managed to get out for supplies and to make another music video, but that was an uncharacteristically warm day. As a short term remedy to this they will be covering New Zealand during December to promote the release of their second music video, handle the jandal finalist London Street.
The video was shot in one day by LA Based director Jared Seltzer in Anthony's bedroom. The cat's name is Ozzy and the dog's name is Biddy. They were both paid in food. So was Anthony.
The video was selected from 93 other videos to be in the 2006 Radio Active Handle the Jandal finals, along with 14 other entrants. Unfortunately it didn't receive any awards, but the goody bags alone were worth it.
This tour will also include new material from the debut album, You Can Listen Too, which is due out in February 2007.
