I just wanted to thank everyone who has voted for it from this site - It really does help. Saw the D4 playing live on late night talk shows over here - They were really fuckin good. In comparison to being over here 7,5,4,2,1 year ago - NZ is so 'Hot' right now. Finally!

I wouldn't count on that happening any time soon. The best you can hope for is that they don't start thinking you're on the east coast (New York, New Jersey, New Hampshire, New Zealand, etc.) As much as I try to educate the people, they're just not having it.
Oh, and Tomble, I voted. Feel free to repay me by adding Minneapolis/St. Paul to your tour itinerary.

I guess the official website hasn't been updated yet, then. Where do you get your information, johnnyjw? You always seem to have the inside track.
On a monday sucks, but the Quest is a really cool venue. It has loads of atmosphere (or it did the last time I was there --to see Einstuerzende Neubauten in 1998).

Tomble I would like to thank you for personally (in a sense) showing us your appreciation. I was thinking the other day 'it kinda sucks that he was willing to reply heaps to Mike Hunt but doesn't really acknowledge the fans' - I know, petty etc but this has just reaffirmed my opinion that personal contact with bands is the best way to keep your faith alive in them.

I found the deets at pollstar.com.
Also, I just wanted to say it was really good to hear the note of 'solidarity' from Tomble regarding The D4. I didnt know how they would feel about the NZ groups riding the 'nu rock' wave, essentially managing to skip many of the years of hard work that the Shihad/Pacifier guys have put in before making it to the international stage. Good on ya Tomble, I hope 2003 is the year you make it huge worldwide!

If you have an idea for a new mission hit the target you can see on the bottom of any page. Let us know the details and we'll make it a future mission.
It's cool if there's stuff here but the goal of Fight The System is to focus the whole community on one thing at a time. That way we can have the most impact.
We'll keep this one in mind for a future mish. Any other ideas, just hit the target!

So the idea would in fact be to go down the list from Mission 1 and vote for all missions, until you tell us to stop?
Gosh it took me far to long to work out that I could type private in the feilds of that triple j request form.
I imagine that opening this system for missions within NZ would be opening a huge can of worms?

Mission 6: Keep M2 on air
We all know that M2 is going off the air. This is a kick in the nuts not only to music video fans but also to all the local bands M2 supported by playing their videos when others wouldn't. TVNZ have said that "the public will tell us what they want" So lets tell 'em!
Email tv2@tvnz.co.nz and tell them to Keep M2 On Air.
Result: Well we knew it was a long shot. M2 appears to be dead and buried but it's not all bad - looks like TV4's taking up the challenge and we'll have a free-to-air music channel back before the year's out. A for effort and maybe a B for result given the 6 month wait.

Besides, give Evermore a fair go. People haven't needed a target to email tvnz, I imagine Evermore's cause would slip into obscurity if their target was pulled in favour.

The trouble with emails is they're so easily ignored. You get hundreds of them, you just press delete before you read them.
You should write on paper (snail mail etc) to both the bosses at TV2 and to your local MP. I really think this is a definite TVNZ charter issue. If all of the caring nzmusic.com readers went and spoke with their local MP, you might find that this issue gets some attention.
