The have fucking rock

Well well well, it is about time;)

omg i saw the have play last night at shadows as part of the uni orientation and fuk they were amazing! Pure rock'n'roll they were! i fully recomend seeing them if you get the chance!

the have were the second of 3 bands at indigo on thursday. i was there out of interest and ended up working so i was watching rather than participating in the bouncy audience joy.

the turnout was depressing; i put it down to bad advertising and it being a thursday. the first band, alphanoise, did a creditable job with a sort of garage rock on a bed of floyd. the headliner was evermore.

the have were phenomenal. i hadnt seen them live before, and had only heard a coulpd of bootleg mp3s. (so sue me.) they were technically skilled, had great presence, and their lyrics were less generic this-rhymes-with-that than a lot of bands working within the same genre. but apart from all these things, they rocked. totally energetic, unphased by the tiny crowd and the fact that said tiny crowd didnt know was a dance floor was for.

imho, the have should have headlined. evermore was whiney and boring and trite to me after seeing the have. god knows why pete teamed them up.

Well i've seen them bout 2-3 times and i was pretty impressed, heaps of energy and presence like u said, has ne1 got an idea when they're playin next?

hey guys, you're right The Have rock. I know Peter Mangan - used to go to school with him and he's a rugged guy. They're awesome cos they come out of Wanganui and they're still at school so it's pretty cool they're doing so well. Have to say the Peter Mangan now is a lot different to the Primary School Pete...hehe no more short bright blonde hair for him.

Have you guys seen them on Space? They've been on the tv but I don't think any of their stuff has been aired on the radio yet. Maybe I just haven't heard it?

I met the guys in chch when I went down for the rockquest finals and they seemed hardout focused on their music, but after the competition finished they were pretty cool back at the hotel. They were 7th form last yr so they wont be in rockquest again but hey theyve already won it so whats the point right? gotta say they did a good job at bdo and even though theyre not the most original band out they r great musicians and if u ever c their little bro's they wont b hard to miss because they are exactly the same retro style-shaggy hair looking, pretty much the mini have. oh yay-ah ;D

the have have all left skool. all members except pete were 7th form last year and pete has now left skool this year in order to keep the band going

I used to go to WHS and Peter Mangan was a dick and used to throw me in a bin, lol. now i live in tauranga and I miss the stink river and the local maories that always went to the bowl. Wanganui is good and so is COLLEGIATE, yeah bo, went there too. Im tired and kinda pissed. farewell.
