I only saw a little bit of it, after playing trivial pursuit with a double-minded jerk who can't possibly make a decision for fear of making his (and my) life less complicated, and before meeting Myshkin for dinner.
One word sprang to mind - Harmless. Poor wee kid...
His denial of plastic surgery was an amazing thing to watch. He truly believes that he hasn't had it!
In some ways I felt that the reporter was a little brutal. Jacko had spent so much time with him and built up trust, but at the very last interview he was nailed with some very pointed questions. The reporting style in itself was very tabloid :"It's hard to believe this man is the same one I interviewed in Neverland".
He was a bit odd, but you would be to if you were the ultimate king in your fairy tale world....
Wasn't his house just the SHIT!!!!
Its that "I'm Peter Pan" shit that makes him an easy target...
I thought he was a loving father who understood that his kids would be targets as well.
If he invited me to sleep in his bed I'll knock him out.
If I was a kid, who was broken and hurt, and some kind soul offered me a safe warm place, milk, cookies and stories before sleep time, I would be in like flin.

//It is only as adults that we have to add nasty gruby themes into this idea
Thats so true... Remember how you use to see the world through childrens eyes? It was fun wasn't it. Then you grow up and let go of that innocence and forget that putting a towel around your neck made you superman...
i understood what jacko was getting at when he was explaining why he shares his bed... maybe i'm the only one. the interviewer seemed to be trying to twist it all back to being something sexual (for the sake of selling his stupid documentry probably).
the interviewer was coming at from the angle of parent.
and the fear whicht the media has drummed that every scout leader is a kiddy fiddler has helped perpetuate this fear, the media has everyone running scared these days it sells more advertising.
i see wat u mean prozaco, but i still dont agree wit him doin it.i didnt realise how michael jackson neva really grew up but now i do.i know he had a pretty vulernable childhood but in future it could be his kids in his state if he keeps on acting in this......well lets just say.....um.... "fantasy world".
but he makes alot of sense. no one touches anyone anymore... and i don't mean that in a sexual way, i just mean touch... like a hug or a hand on the shoulder. research proves that kids who are neglected from touch don't develop as well as kids who receive alot of affection. these days teachers aren't even allowed to touch their students at all in case it gets taken the wrong way. not even a hug for a kid whos having a hard day. no wonder everyone is so fucked up!
actually if teachers were allowed to hug kids it would be alright and really help the littleies(sorry about that spelling) but then wouldnt that make it acceptable for kids to hug the teacher??imagine if you have some 5 year old on his first day who wont let go of youre leg??
there r sooooo many harrasment cases because of just little things that arent even sexual.i guess it isnt that bad wen u find out that it isnt by force and he makes sure whoever "goes under the covers" wit him are fine wit that.
you notice at the Zoo he didn't give a shit about he kids, all he cared about was the attention he was getting from his fans & media
His kids even say they don't have a mum, come on
I personally really dont like the guy but i must give him credit on the awsome show last night! it was a great laugh and gave a good insight on how much of a rich, lying, rude, dodgy barstard he is! yeah i know he didnt have a childhood but i still dont agree with him sitting there holding a 12 year old kids hand! But thats him personally! i must confess that his concert was my very first! and it wasnt that bad! :S (i was bout 8 or 9 at the time)
I say ups to Mikey, if you become a mega-star at such a young age with a questionable childhood/family life and gazillions of dosh to spread around - you're not going to be 'normal' I bet you'd easily lose touch with what you'd call a 'real life'. I say, leave him be... if he's not hurting the kids or certifiably losing his marbles.. who cares...
Oh to have his reach and freedom that comes with such wealth and eccentricity... pray that I don't get the big bicks.. I hate to think how I'd act..
It was really cool to see inside Neverland. He really has built his own world. It kinda got me thinking about when i was a kid and used to say stuff like - "when i grow up and have $1000 im going to build me a rollercoaster and a swimming pool with a hydroslide bigger than Waiwera's at my house" MJ is living out his childhood dreams, and i think even though he is 40 something that is still pretty damn cool.
I think simplicity is what MJ wants, and gets from children. When MJ spoke about his love for children, and people for that matter, i found him to be quite sincere. The reporter was a complete wank and completely non objective about the whole children thing. He was obviously fueled by prejudices, and on a crusade to persecute and verbally lynch MJ for being some kind of kiddie fiddler. No wonder MJ rarely gives interviews.
I went to the History concert in 97' and have honestly never seen any production come close. It was honestly amazing. Even if you hated Michael Jackson you probably still would of enjoyed the show.
There is no doubt that MJ is essentric, but i can't honestly see how he could be 'normal' given the life he has lived. The man is a genius who has sold 50 million copies of oneof his albums (averaged 1 million albums a week for 'Thriller') - GIVE IT UP!
People keep saying "oh, he had such a strange upbringing, it's no wonder he's turned out like he did..." There are plenty of celebrities with equally peculiar upbringings who have turned out reasonably normal, and there are plenty of eccentrics brought up in a relatively normal households.
I'm not having a go at anyone, but I just think it's weird that people feel the need to justify MJ's eccentricity by blaming his circumstances. He is who he is, and most likely he would have been a pretty strange character regardless of how he was brought up. I think he's a remarkable, interesting person (albeit a rather bad role model).
its to easy to blame him being a nutter on his "childhood" but all that is is an excuse, that of wich people use to justify him and how hes turned out.
he is a nutter and always will be, but who here doesnt wish they got to live out there dreams?
