The last album I bought though would be D4 Six Twenty on CD with Party on vinyl. mmmm vinyl.

I bought SW's self-titled album on the strength of the song Save Yourself, which was actually on the album before this one (yes, i knew when I bought it) but the self-titled album didn't do much for me, I was expecting it to be much darker, all the songs are very similar too.

The self titled album is not good, not them at all. They changed record companies before releasing that and broke up shortly after. Pity, but that album was really not good. Not dark.
I love Darkest Days, it's one of my favourites. & so far I'm really enjoying Wither, Blister, Burn + Peel. Dark, but not try-hard angst-y.
Stabbing Westward broken up?? Pity ...
Stabbing Westward broken up?? Pity that, and Avril lavigne so-called career is still in the spotlight. Canadian music is supposed to be good. Oh well. I like "So Far Away" off the self-titled, i could be wrong but its the latest one? The one with that guy with mascara on the cover?? And i was planning on getting that last year, if it sucks im kinda glad i didn't get round to it. I'm sure Stabbing Westward don't have to be dark too be good, not all good music is dark.

Cheers, Stefan - it was you and the other people here who caused me to buy it, as Sould Coughing had slipped under my radar. I've had one listen as I drove from Raglan to Auckland, and so far its pretty damn fine. It is no longer, however, my most recent purchase - that honour now goes to Many Hands "World in a Room", who were at Soundsplash 2003 and blew me away - particularly the Korean violin, which from a distance sounded like a woman, someone like Diamanda Galas. Hmm - there's a new sub-genre of music - reggae goth.

Spent my Christmas present gift ...
Spent my Christmas present gift vouchers on saturday. There was this lovely, lovely, looooovvvellleeeee American shop attendant at Real Groovy and I was trying desperately to think of a way to give him my number without looking like I was trying to pick him up, but failed. Suffice it to say I think my bank balance will suffer from a sudden spate of CD (and book, and probably streetwear) purchases this month...
Anyhoo - I got:
Relaxomatic Projections. oooo, Dan Sperber...mmmmmmmm....and, ooo, what an odd coincidence, a brief appearance by a certain Augustino guitarist...
Missy Elliott's new one.
Beck - Odelay, because I left my first copy in Wellington.
Propeller - Refrain EP, mainly because it was almost offensively cheap, and is the previous band of aforementioned Augustino guitarist (am I getting a wee bit *too* obsessive here?), with some cool trance remixes by him.
Morcheeba - Charango. Nice.
Fang - Somewhere Out There. Delinquent lovechild of The Chills & Nick Cave. Gotta love it.
