Flesh D-Vice

No artist page for 'em, so I'll start something here. They've recently been on a national tour, maybe they've still got a gig or two to do. I'm surprised that no-one has made any kind of mention of them, given their Pacifier connections and the importance they have as a band in their own right. Did anyone catch one of their gigs?

I saw them when they passed through Palmie, I had no idea what they'd sound like as my only exposure to them had had Gerlad Dwyer on vocals. I am not actually sure of the lineup - I recognise one of them from the old photos and that's about it. The vocal duties were shared - have to say it was rather a mixed bag, what with the covers of the Donnas mixed in with their Joy Division cover and the absolute murder of Five Car Pile Up's "Bad Little Man", and the fact that one vocalist was very quiet. But when they got into their own songs and had the other fellow singing, they were a blast.

I'm currently listening tho their CD, and the words that forced themselves out from me as I moved into the second CD is that is "fucking good shit" - I love this CD: its one that obviously has to be played loud.

Forums: NZ Music,

Oh no - I had seen posters around town advertising Flesh D-Vice, but I thought it was something to do with D.VICE, the Wellington and online "designer sex gear" shop.

Ok, so Flesh D-Vice is a band, and it doesn't vibrate or come in five fruity flavours. I will try to remember that.

haha - no, Flesh D-Vice is very much a band, to quote smokecds "one of New Zealand's original and reigning hardcore outfits throughout the 1980's, combining punk rock, metal, horror and humour with a DIY hard-touring work ethic." Flaming Soul is theirs - if you know your Shihad, you'll know they covered it when Gerlad Dwyer passed away.

Flesh D Vice played at Punkfest in Chch a few months ago.

The website is a work in progress.

i saw them at punkfest after a pacifier show in chch. they actually dedicated flaming soul to pacifer. from what i could tell from reading all of the liner notes the next day it was one of the original line ups with the guys sharing vocal duties. needless to say the live show was much better than the cd, but the cd is still way better than most of the stuff than tries to pass itself off as punk.
ive heard very little about their tour. only knew about the chch show because of mels photos. wicked. i would go to see this band again.
