anyway, a good gig last night at the first Dunners Kaleidoscope World Series ... Joed Out said they had a patchy gig, but the great quality in the content of their songs really shone out. very catchy tunes, very hard to forget, burrow into our heads - we bought albums too, and have thrashed them on and off today - fanastic stuff.
a great gig, heaps of brilliant variety, and the compilation from all the bands ... one of the best compilations i've ever heard [i'm trying hard to ignore the fact that my band's on it when i make this attempt at joyful objectivity ... hmmm]
Sooooo right on. I didn't see the band, but I like the sentiment. Not an auckland kind of cool....which is where you get your rock and roll boots and your "edgy" haircut straight out of pavement and an old "vintage" leather jacket which you paid way too much for.....fucking Auckland bands. You can spot them a mile away when they come into dunedin rock shop. Tryhards. Learn to play your fuckin instrument first, dickheads. Sorry, Joed Out, carry on....

is this the same band that played first at the ambassador the other week? jesus if it was, i thought they were terrible and every single song sounded like 'blister in the sun'
