I don't know about it being the light in the darkenss but for me it sure makes the darkness much more pleasant. turn the lights off put closer on, close my eyes and relax. i yet have to find another album which has the same effect one me. The thing is even if i put one song on replay constantly i don't even notice i am listening to the same stuff.

Another of the cands that has similar effect is Coil. Download "the dreamer is still asleep". For me it comes very close to the stuff from Closer. Relaxing but very disturbing. Other than that i like Neubauten, ISN, ald all sorts of alternative/industrial/darkwave stuff.
