Im really into sum of the new bands that are being crossbreed and recreated with the likes of Audioslave, transplants, Box car racer, A perfect Circle, even Dave Grohl drumming for QOTSA... anybody got any other bands that are being made from existing ones? or anyones comments on the previous ones?

The recently announced project featuring Les Claypool of Primus fame, Tool drummer Danny Carey and Adrian Belew of King Crimson, have been united for a twofold purpose. The group have been working on new material for Adrian Belew's upcoming solo album and have completed three songs so far, while the trio also plan to work towards creating an original project out of the collaboration as well, though no firm plans in regards to a release and such have been considered as of yet. The group are presently recording at Claypool's Rancho Relaxo Studio in California. In related news, the Col. Claypool's Bucket Of Bernie Brains side project, which features Claypool along with Brain, Buckethead and Bernie Worrel of Parliament fame, will begin recording a new album together at Rancho Relaxo Studios immediately following their sold out show at Fillmore on February 07th.

wow u guys know a hell of a lot bout all these diff collaborations and side projects. it's really quite interesting to see who does what with who. u can end up wif some really wicked bands and supergroups like audioslave or zwan for example. but rather they've recreated themselves since being wif their previous band/s and i can honestly say, i can't agree more wif what theyre doing. though theyre not side-projects they definitely making some awesome sounds.
thats my 2 cents for today.
Troy Van Leeuwen of A Perfect ...
Troy Van Leeuwen of A Perfect Circle/Failure fame recently commented to Undercover regarding his recent projects, stating that he is currently working with Nick Oliveri of Queens Of The Stone Age on the new release from Oliveri's side project Mondo Generator. The album is expected to see a release later this year through Ipecac. Van Leeuwen also revealed that he has been lending his talents to Mark Lanegan's upcoming solo album which is being produced by Queens Of The Stone Age frontman/guitarist Josh Homme. Van Leeuwen has of course been handling the touring guitarist duties for the Queens Of The Stone Age in support of their latest album "Songs For The Deaf". Aside from his Queens duties Van Leeuwen also stated that he is still trying to finish up his long running project ENEMY along with work on the new album from A Perfect Circle.
