i read this topic of mxtabs.net and thought id bring it here to see what us kiwis have to say, anyways ill go first
i like to use a dictaphone when writing songs on guitar so that way once im done writing my song i can untab it all and give it to my bassist/rhythm guitarist to change and add more bits untill we come up with the finished product

In my band we tend to jam out stuff for ...
In my band we tend to jam out stuff for hours and record the lot. Afterwards we disect the tape and anything which we think sounds cool we will save and use to construct new tunes. Sometimes our guitar player will just write stuff but most of the time we find jamming better as everyone has an input!!
Each to there own though there is not set rule as to how it should be done.

We like to perform ritualistic animal killing, disect the eye balls so as to get a really good feeling as to how the song should sound, this also leaves a nice hole for a eye socket soddom
then our band gets naked smears vasoline over each other and try to make each other cum with out useing our hands, we then clean our seleves off by licking each other,
the whole time no one talks as its benig recorded,
we then put a few effects on it rg reverb delay and a "phat" house beat underneath and sell it to the gay clubs in chch for $4000 a pop,
