to buy high quality basses with more than 5 strings... you are gonan have to go small specialist stores aye. or order factory direct, wich is hella dodgy.
Personally i dont really see much interest in a sixth string. each to their own i guess.

Hi there... I'm out to find an ...

Hi there... I'm out to find an American Bass on the cheap (like 1500 bucks or so) and am not having much luck... I found a hell nice Fender on an international website, but fender dont let people export stuff over here (presumably becuase we are currently getting monopolised). I've tried the rock, and all the other decent music stores I can find, but I dont know any good specialists or anything... the bass I was after was a Fender Active Jazz Bass RW... help a brother out, I'm afraid purchasing my own bass is a whole new thing to me! Any suggestions would be most welcome, and if you have an american bass you would like to part with... you know what to do!

I picked up a nice '72 fender jazz with EMG pick ups with case for $1300 (a little pricey I thought but I wanted it)
why an american bass I have had some nice early '80's japanese basses, what sort of sound are you after and where do you live?
