nzers between ages of 18 and 30 with clean criminal records can get 12 month work visas to canada

i have been in seattle and vancouver for about the last 3 months,
the music scene here is good
there are heaps of venues, studios and indy labels as well as majors, but the kiwi bands are better
(4 days ago i visited the studio in seattle where a band called nirvana recorded an album called bleach and demoed some songs for in utero, phil ek was there, he has recorded modest mouse and built to spill, the friend i am staying with has recorded eva las vegas who was in a band called sweet 75 with one krist novoselic)
these people and opportunities are here!
not so much in nz

you could work in canada and play shows all over north america
it is cheap to live in vancouver, i had my own room in a hotel for cdn$325/month which is about nz$400
i know of too many bands in nz that kick the arse off local bands here, but are destined to never leave nz, don't wait in nz for a deal with virgin to pay your way, get the deal while you are over here!!!

i think the quota for 2003 is gone but start planning now for 2004

nz also has agreements with a bunch of countries in europe too, including germany, sweden, denmark, uk, netherlands, italy (i think)
