need some help

I'm from Belgium (Europe), and NZ music is very rare. I think The Datsuns' album is the only 'kiwi' you could find in record stores. That's why I want to know more about NZ. Could you tell me which (indie) rock bands I have to hear? (I also know Pacifier and Pluto)

Forums: NZ Music,

AAAAALLLLLL OF THEM!!!!

You've come to the right place... pick your genre from the artists page, and find out for yourself using the delight that is streaming video. Try Two Lane Blacktop, Betchadupa, Letterbox Lambs, Tadpole, Gramsci, Weta, Fur Patrol and on each artist's page, browse through the links of related artists as well.

Listen to Heather... this is good advice.

//which (indie) rock bands I have to hear? (I also know Pacifier and Pluto)

pluto maybe, but pacifier are not "indie"

marystaple are excellent

*plug*

i might be clutching at straws to call them indie...but Slim are one the best bands around I reckon...very under rated

they are ok i like a few of their songs

old stuff like straitijacket fits, the clean etc. - youll have ot import it though

Indicator Dogs are a cool band!

i wouldn't call them indy though...

indie???
degrees.k, letterbox lambs, looma, straightjacket fits, bailterspace, the clean, flying nun bands in general, the chills, mary...
go to www.smokecds.com
and www.realgroovy.co.nz
pretty much anything said here so far...

Actually, early Flying Nun records stuff should be pretty easy to find in Europe - as after EMI shut the vinyl plant in NZ, it was all made over here then imported back to NZ through local european companies. I know theres a fair bit of FN vinyl freely available in london (well, there was before I bought it all!)

Though I'd recommend smoke or marbecks as the Kiwi dollar is pretty rubbish compared to the Pound & Euro.

Oh and of course the D4's album should be out all over europe too. They've toured there a couple of times haven't they?

It's called 6Twenty. Very good it is too.

Try Lucid 3 or The Brunettes they are close to ïndie.

ooo definitely try the Brunettes. theyre absolutely lovely, love em!
