The Lost Prophets

Has anyone out there ACTUALLY heard of these awesome welsh rockers?? Because i havn't met many....

Forums: The Bar,

welsh rockers? interesting

yeah man. Aint they the ones who sing that Shinobi vs. Dragon Ninja song? 4gotten how it goes.

yeah thats them, fuck i love that song
i got some of their others thou, and well. they were extremely similiar to each other and lacking in the energy that Shinobi vs. Dragon Ninja has

Yup, ahead of you by about a year. I was planning to get a CD or EP or something when I was in the UK but then I accidentally came back to NZ. Glad they're starting to make their mark over here.

Has anyone heard of Kid Galahad?

Your not that far ahead of me as i bought their album in late february 2002

Aha! Maybe you, Dr Gymkhana and I can start our own exclusive "we were there way ahead of everyone else, we rule the rest of you all suck" club. We can put in a joint subscription for NME to be delivered from the UK, and be six months ahead of everyone else, all the time.

//joint subscription for NME to be delivered from the UK
Hey, if we'd done that a year ago, we would've heard of the Datsuns before everyone else in NZ.

Sounds good to me ;)

Heather - you're on!...and I just LOVE your hair!
Hahaha. I love the Datsuns, advance-notice or not! But you're right, we need to get on to this joint-sub soon, might be more new about-to-be-huge bands from cambridge in the next issue....and can we get Kerrang! while we're at it? Pleeeeeease?! Hehehe

Yeap, Lost Prophets single came out a while ago.

But have you heard of G.I Joe Killaz? The Baroness is a fox.

Wowoo... the Baroness is indeed a fox.

That is fantastic brings back memories of me childhood!! Are these guys for real????

YAY!!! Finally, someone else has noticed them! Like Heather, I was a fan a while back. Bought the album way after I heard the first single (it was never really played on the radio for aaaaages after I first heard it) The album (thefakesoundofprogress) was fucking impossible to find (well not quite, I did find it after all) Theyve released a second single in the UK, doing quite well last time I heard.

Also...on the album sleeve, it has printed, "such a shame, my defenses have become my own restrictions" this line is also in the song Bone Orchard by Shihad, from Churn. Are the LPs fans of Shihad, or is the line taken from something famous?

nah, The Lost Prophets are big fans of Shihad/Pacifier.
They did a cover of "Home again".

Really? Where can I find it?! Ahhhh must haaaave!!

Yeah i got the Album, The Fake Sound of Progress, and i am constantly blown away by it...
some songs of note would be (obviously) shinobi VS dragon ninja, five is a four letter word, for sure.
I have to say LostProphets are one hellova class act. Nice thread sam.

i was imensley dissapointed by "and she told me to leave" and "the fake sound of progress" - they sounded to similiar

ill get the one you suggested thou and tell ya what i think

a mate of mine has the CD it really rocked!!!
must add it to my list of must have CDs
there are QUITE a few ther ;) already

ummm...im not sure... you should try their website, that'll probably help out.

http://www.lostprophets.com ]

tried, couldnt find it...nice site though, too bad the forum there is so fucking in-bred!

Perhaps in-bred wasn't the right word....

Ha! and which word would YOU have used, dear lostprophet?

munted maybe?

how bout 'utter bullshit-not worthy of being the forum for such an amazing band'
well, maybe thats more than one word..

lost prophets doing cover of shihad. wow thats a new one to me never expected that. i have only ever shinobi vs dragon ninja by the lost prophets, by my cousin has dowlnoaded lots of other stuff by them and said they were really godly. he mentioned a couple of covers i think im not sure but i'll check it out. speaking of covers the best one i've heard recently is pantera doing a live cover of speultura's refuse resist. that is one of the most godly things you will here :)

ill nino doing soulflys eye for an eye - now thats godly

The Lost Prophets do other covers aswell, check KaZaA

ooohh liking the sound of that, what other covers you heard of good bands covering another good bands stuff. ??

i'll post the ones ive heard as they come back to memory.

but one of my favourites is Bio Hazard covering attitude by Sepultura. :)

that is awesome!

I like Rages Cover of Bruce Springsteen's "The Ghost of Tom Joad"
thats pretty good... in fact most of the songs rage against the machine covered were good.
What about that cover of "Ms Jackson" by the Vines....its so...different from the original.

Nirvana's cover of The man who sold the world (i think was originally david bowie's?) is very good. The Rock plays the live version heaps. i think thats the only version of it they recorded.
The vines/outkast cover is great!! Have you seen that kittens-playing-the-vines website? The link is floating round The Bar forum somewhere...

yeah it sounds godly!
Im sorry im over it. sam where did you hear the lostprophets cover for 'Home Again'?

Try KaZaA.
(its pretty damn hard to find, though)

haha - it's hard enough finding SHIHAD's version of home again...KaZaA gets all bitchy from time to time. Ah well...will go on looking anyway.

Damn. More people need to know about these guys. And even though Shinobi vs Dragon Ninja is a great song....its not the only song they have, pretty much every song i've heard by them is good also...so go buy their album, dammit!

Sam Ya Bastard it was ME on MSN!! SHEESH!

ok....

yeah i got that rage cover of "The Ghost of Tom Joad" on my rage video i got. (pretty sure thats it anyway).

covers that i havnt heard myself yet, but mates say are awesome.

Megadeath covering "blind" by Korn
SLipknot also covering "blind"
Korn covering "bring the noise" public enemy and vanilla ice's "too cold"

one that i heard was very bad was stainds cover of "Sober" by tool.

Staind covering Tool??
Thats just wrong.

I've heard Stand's cover Sober. I thought it was ok
I heard it on a live webcast in dec 2001
