i knew a dude once and he got his cds stolen so he borrowed covers from all his friends and took photos and they gave him the dollars. wicked.

Maybe you could burn the CDs as you get them, and carry the copies with you. I think it's still officially illegal in NZ (same as ripping CDs onto a computer), but ethically it's not wrong since they're your CDs copied for your own personal use? I doubt the cops would ever haul you in for it. Time better spent going after the bastards that nicked your original collection.

If some jerk wanted to decimate my collection they'd have to steal all my CDs AND my laptop AND my work computer, none of which are ever in the same place at the same time.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, now that I've listened for another day - Wai FM in Greymoth is a fantastic wee station - I think that since I haven't seen any Maori faces since I got here, someone has hijacked the iwi funding or something and set up a station that plays a whole heap of good shit.
