So does anyone have any new years resolutions they'd like to share?
mine are the usual: keep room tidy, be more organised, don't procastinate, yada yada yada. anyone got sum which are more interesting?

About 5 years ago I made a resolution ...

About 5 years ago I made a resolution to make no more resolutions, and I haven't made one since. I change things in my life when I decide they need changing, instead of waiting for a specific season to make a change. I have recently decided, though, that I need to learn to play chess.

I'm avoiding the "stop drinking / ...

I'm avoiding the "stop drinking / smoking / torturing small animals / posting nzm messages in work time / eating dirt" resolutions as well. I read this article about smoking in the paper on saturday, and it suggested that quitting smoking should be on the same resolution list as "get psychological help". Apparently about 80% of smokers have some kind of psychological disorder and nicotene is basically a self-diagnosed tranquiliser. Well, duh.

My 2000 resolution was to start smoking, and I'm pleased to say it was a raving success.

- learn to drive. I'm 30, for gossakes!
- do some work for a charity organisation.
- do something creative. do an art course, take up photography, start writing music again, haven't worked out what my first project will be yet.

yeah, i'm not good at keeping those ...

yeah, i'm not good at keeping those things...but i'll guess i'll at least try this time round...ok so here goes...

*Save $$$ for MAINZ (so i can go.)
*Go to many many gigs.
*take up an instument ... other than the recorder....hopefully expand on my drum playing.
*be nice.

and what list of my resolutions would be complete without...

*Hug as many people this year as i can!!!

That's absolutely the coolest resolution I've ever heard! If you hear of some psycho dashing around the streets of Auckland hugging people willy-nilly (aside from you, of course) then you'll know who it is.

*take a risk every day
