velocity, im pretty sure youre thinking of the wrong thing - all the photographers ive seen wear these khaki sorta vest things with heaps of pockets.

A swannie is more of a jacket than a shirt - although you can buy Swandri shirts, its the jacket which tends to be called a swannie. I've had mine since I was in the fifth form, which makes it older than most people here, which is a bit frightening.
