Phoenix Foundation

Wow - 2 random calls for a new Phoenix Foundation album in the same minute!!! *sync*

NiceGuyEddie - looking at your fantastic taste and timing I think we must be psychically connected
I've never seen the Phoenix live but hear them on the radio often and on a compilation CD I have- when are they coming to Auckland?

I didn't include no shows, otherwise Phoenix Foundation and Dimmer would both feature.

Had a little chat to the singer (name? name? I am terrible with names), pretty sure he said the album should be here early 2003 - maybe March? (OK... I am also crap with details of what I have been told - where is my mind?) And I heard what appeared to be new Phoenix Foundation material playing at Fidels. Sounding good.
Ask about a tour in the Phoenix Foundation forum... they're pretty good at replying.

I speeds - your list looks strangely like mine -we were posting simultaneously, so I swear I didn't copy yours. Looking forward to getting the Rock & Roll is my only Salvation Cd soon - maybe hearing it would alter my list. I too was saddened by Bic's effort - I think individually, the songs were fine, but aggregated, listening was a chore. Phoenix Foundation live are great.

Hey fellas!

Alrighty - first question "when are we coming to Auckland" - The answer is on the 8th of Feb (with Fang - don't know where though - those guys are organising it) - choice!

Yeah no shows (re: the album) - we're still putting the final touches on it (blah blah) - February is looking more than likely (blah blah again) - out on Capitol Recordings....

Cheers for the compliments, you guys have all made your way onto my christmas card list!

Top 10 for me, in no order:
Rhombus - Bass Player
largely for the featured vocalists

Dubious Brothers - Trade Secrets
my personal fave hiphop album

Brunettes - Holding Hands, Feeding Ducks
been a fan since I first saw them a couple of years ago

Lucid3 - Running Down the Keys
love the voalisation on this one

Dr Kevorkian and the Suicide Machine - The Loneliest of Creatures
Not just because JR is a friend - made me cry, dammit

This is not easy - there are quite a few others which are very very good, like the Pine album, P-Money, Goldenhorse, Minuit that would be in a top 15, and others which might have made it, had I heard them. A very good year for NZ music - and I thought 2001 was good (but perhaps more electronica focus).

I've just realised that I haven't bought any New Zealand albums this year. But that has more to do with lack of cash than lack of desire.

But I did win "Elimination" by the Deceptikonz, and I, er, downloaded Blindspott's album, and I really liked both of those.

But the Mechanic Demos are just 'demos' just to give people the jist of our sound, they wont be released.
We have a 45 coming out in Jan thru 'Infidelity records' (released in the northen hemisphere and OZ) which will be ace, so hold on for then for some real sounds.
Cheers anyway
